I made dinner reservations for our April stay with DFIL and DMIL, the CM noted that the tip will autimatically be added for parties of 6 or more which is no problem for that trip. However our November trip will be with friends - 9 of us in all - our family of 4 and their family of 5. We want to dine together but want the checks split so each family can handle their own food. Do we handle this there? Do I mention it when making dinner reservations? We are not on the DDP. Thanks for any help!!!

There's no problem with split checks. Just tell your server up front.

They will, however, automatically add the 18% tip to both checks.

Moving to Restautants Forum . . . . . . .......

Like the PP said you can can get the check split however you want them to be split but since the entire dining party consists of more than 6 people each ticket will have the automatic 18% gratuity. So even though your party and your friend's dining party are both under six members the fact that you are dining together making a dining party of 9 means that the automatic 18% will be added.
