I've posted this tip on a few threads, but really want to pass it on to as many parents as possible. When we took my then 3.5 year- and 9 month- olds to the world last January we had a horrible time using the potties. My ds was/is terrified of auto-flush toilets, and manual flush ones are few and far between at the parks. When we got home we told the tale to a childless friend of ours who suggested we use post-it notes to cover the sensor before use. This is the single best parenting advice I've ever been given! I am not kidding. It makes life so much easier on the go. Please, please try it if you have a potty-trained little one. And pass it on.

This is very good advice. Little ones are sooo afraid when those tolits flush.

I didn't know until one day taking my dgs2 to the restroom at the dr. office. He was sitting on the tolit and just leaned forward a little and the loud tolit flushed. He came off the tolit screaming, crying and shaking! He just kept saying over and over again through his tears "Grandma, that scared me!".

Wish I would have thought of that when DD was little. She always thought the toliet would suck her down.:earseek:

I did see this on another post but LOVE to see it again. I was actually going to email my mommy's group about it this morning!

Yes, I agree spread the word!

Just remember to flush when you are done. I can't tell you how many toilets at WDW that I walk into that have a surprise.
