Autograph Pillowcases/Other Items?

A friend who just returned from WDW said she saw a family who had the characters autograph a pillowcase instead of an autograph book. I thought this was a unique idea and wanted to know if anyone has had characters autograph other unique items. I was thinking about taking quilt squares for them to autograph, then making a Disney vacation photo quilt (maybe throw sized, not necessarily full sized) with some of the squares being character autographs. Has anyone else attempted this? Too much work? Are the characters able to autograph quilt squares? Would a Sharpie work? Or should I stick to a pillowcase? Thanks for any and all input!

Very cute idea! I'd take the squares and a fabric sharpie!!!!

For us, we are making our own scrapbooks so my kids will be having the characters sign a 'special' paper. ;) We are alss painting/decorating 4x6 wooden frames that we bought at Michael's for $1.00 just for the Fairies in Pixie Hollow to sign!

We are making it priority to go only to them on our first night! I'd hate t
be lugging around those frames all day long... hahaha...but I think it's a unique way to save a memory!

We took my son's 3ft Mickey Mouse to Chef Mickeys and had the characters sign the Mickey's white gloves and feet!

Everyone thought this was a great idea. My son even had his pictures done with his stuffed Mouse!

Love IT!!! What size frame ? You now have my wheels turning for our BF at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall with DD 4princess: They give you the photo pkg with the meal. Hmmmm 5x7 or 8x10 frame......... anybody know????

On our last trip my kids took along their favorite disney story books and had the characters autograph them... Now at bed time we get sweet Disney Dreams.....

I Love The Pillowcase Idea too!!! nice n light to carry in the parks:thumbsup2

THANKS FOR ALL THE GREAT IDEAS!!!!

Years ago we carried a couple of long sleeve t shirts for the characters to sign. To make it easier for them, we also had a couple of small embroidery hoops that we had placed where ever we wanted the autograph in order to make the fabric really tight and easy to write on. Placing the embroidery hoop before hand also ensured that all of our autographs were in the right position (on the front) and upright. The t shirts were yellow and had alot of Disney characters around the word 'Disney' on the chest area. When we got home my grandaughter wore one and the other we framed.

I'm not sure how well the quilt squares would work - just because you need enough fabric to stretch so the characters could sign it. An excellent idea - if you could leave the fabric bigger and cut when you get home.

I purchased white T-shirts for all of my daycare kids, and I took one T per day into the parks with us, whichever characters we saw, we got autographed. I just stretched the T-shirts over an autograph book, so the characters had something hard to sign on. The kids love them - most of them won't wear them and a couple of the kids framed the T's and hung them on their walls. :thumbsup2

We did the design your own messenger bags - love them! I have mine right here next to my desk. My girls have them hanging on their wall in their rooms, and occasionally use them for school bags. Initially, the characters had issues signing the bags - but once we had a few signatures on them, it was fine.

I was going to post photos, but photobucket is having issues right now - so I'll edit my post later if I can get photobucket to cooperate.

Ohh didnt think of this...we are doing there and CRT that would be awesome to get a mat and have them sign it then put the pic into it!!

I bought a disney story book when i go i try to find the characters in the book and flip to that page for them to sign. Cool for one day when i get to read it to my own children for now i read it to my step son and he likes it. Only problem its pain to carry around i usually put it in a locker most the day until we go to character greetings or take it just to a character dining experience. Makes it hard to get a lot of the autographs i want in it. I can't wait until our trip in August I'm going to try to get a bunch even if it means lugging around a heavy book.

by the way I LOVE the quilt idea that's not near as heavy as carrying around a story book. I wish I knew how to quilt, maybe one day I learn just for that reason.
