I am going to Disney World with DD-2, DD-3, and DH. This will be the first time we get autographs. Does anyone have suggestions on what type of pen to provide? I have seen on past threads to be sure it is a thick pen, but would you suggest a permanent, such as a fine point sharpie, or a ball point, or any other suggestions. I just want to be sure to provide the best so that we have a lasting "impression". Thanks for your help.

We bought a package of fat blue gel pens (2 fat ones, a skinny one, and 2 refills) at walmart before we went to disney. We returned home recently from the parks and the ink from the pens flowed easily. I would guess that this type of ink would last.

Dont use permanent as it might bleed through the other pages. Also they dont like those as they might stain the costumes. A fat pen works best as they can grip them easier. They do sell fat, long ones at WDW that have the characters on them. Ours stopped writing when we went to get an autograph and thankfully someone had one to borrow!

If you buy a big pen at Disney and it stops working, you can take it back to any place that sells them for a free replacement. Or at least that is what Mary Poppins told the family in front of us that had to borrow our pen :-) Those pens must have a history of not working well.

We bought a Bic brand big pen...sorry, I can't remember what it is called...at Wal-Mart before we left. Actually, the Easter Bunny left them in the baskets, but I have it on good authority that he got them at Wal-Mart.

If you plan on using the autographs in a scrapbook you want to use a pen that is acid free and linguin free. We put our autographs in a scrapbook w/pictures of the characters and my children.

Thanks to all of you for the great advice. I really appreciate it and will take it all into consideration. Once again, thanks a lot!!

hope this helps. We used a fat pin that we got at target on our honeymoon that had about 12 different colors. the characters lover choosing which color they would use. I have also seen them at Walmart.:Pinkbounc

We used colored sharpies on our last trip - a year later, autographs still look great...no bleeding through the pages.

Oh is that the kind where you push down which color you want on the top of the pen? Thats a cool idea!

We used these, too!! The Mad-Hatter didn't want to use pink like Alice, though!!! It was fun to see the color each character would choose!!!;)

I use them in my scrapbooks, no problems!

I forgot about that. My dd bought one of those at the airport on the way down and used that for her autographs. Some of the characters really got a kick out of choosing a color.
