Autograph pen - (fat)sharpie fine point OK??

Is a Sharpie (looks fat to me) fine point OK? (just as long as the middle portion is fat?)

Or do you need the one that has 2 sides? (one with fine point and one with chisel)?

I think the problem with sharpies are they get on the character's costume and they bleed to the next page of the authograph book.

I've had better luck with a BIC XXL. They're pretty cheap at Walmart (less than $2) and they're a ballpoint pen, so no marks... and they're fat enough for the characters to hold.

I too recommend the ball point for the same reason. I have heard numerous times that the characters are a little weary of sharpies because it can ruin a costume. Buy the Bic or for just a few cent more, get the pen from the resorts or park. I think they cost about $2.50 and they make a great souvie for later. Also, if they quit writing for any reason, they will replace them for free at any location in WDW.

Yes, I agree with the above. Minnie got Sharpie all over her glove last year and I felt so bad!!! We had gotten a Sharpie for her autograph Mickey and Minnie. For the book we got the large Disney pens they sell.....I use it at home afterward, a great souvenir!

That was probably the worst tip I have received on these boards. I felt awful when it got all over their gloves! I immediately purchased the Disney Pens to use for the rest of the trip.

When we cruised, at our character breakfast, the handler wouldn't let the characters even touch the sharpie our tablemates had--they had to borrow our fat ballpoint pen
