Did you ever stop and realize how projects begin?

This one began innocently enough last weekend. I was very impressed by some of the designers new work.

I liked their t-shirts, mousekeeping envelopes and holiday cards.

I was inspired to start learning how to do some of the work people were showing.

With the support of the great people on this thread I learned how to write my name with a character behind it. However, somewhere I read that if I had PhotoShop Elements I could really do some great stuff, so I bought PhotoShop Elements.

Then I subscribed to Heather’s thread about making 4 x 6 autograph cards.
Now, I have been to Disney about 10 times in the last 8 years and I don’t have one autograph. They have never interested me. But my next trip in February will be with my 3 nieces (twin almost 4 year olds and an 8 year old). They are going to want to do autographs. My DH loves taking pictures and someone mentioned that they used put their autograph cards in their photo albums along side the pictures of the kids with the character. Bingo, what a great idea.

My mom had just told me (she is 80) that she is very excited about this Disney trip as her one hope is to have her great grandchildren have good memories about her.

I figured if I made a photo album for her and for my niece, then the memories from this trip would be forever. SO that’s a long explanation of why I got involved in this project. As I said, it began innocently.

Last week Heather posted some autograph pages. She posted them in two formats 6x6 & 4x6. Well I fell in love with these designs. I recognized some of the frames, so I thought “maybe I can do this”. Now I checked with Heather first as some people don’t won’t you hijacking their thread and some people feel the more the merrier. The last thing I wanted to do was step on Heather’s toes as her work was so great. So I checked with her and she told me she was ok with me posting some 4x6 designs. So I tried doing a few & loved doing them. I posted the 3 I did and then thought I would let Heather know which characters I would do next. Plus I wanted to know what characters I would see in the parks. Well, that was last Sunday and I have been going strong ever since. I now have a 20 page document with the following.
Using
www.wdwautographs.com I was able to get a listing of the characters who are giving autographs. I didn’t include characters who don’t do autographs (like Sully). I listed the character name, where they could be found (using the site above, All Ears, Mouse for less and of course the DisBoards). I listed the frequency they had been seen over the last few years. Again, using the sites listed above. I included the legend for the frequency list. I included the movie or where they were a character from. & last but not least I included a column for marking off if we had a 4x6 card made for the character.

Now I am going to mark down what characters are currently made & then ask Heather if I can help make a few that haven't been made. I thought I would start with the Super Common & Common ones and then go from there.
Then I cut and pasted some information from All Ears about the Character Meals (description). I didn’t include the price or menus since they change. However I included where they could be found and what characters attended. Also included is character meet and greet FAQ section from AllEars. Then comes another listing with hyperlinks (from wdwinfo.com) about character dining. A listing of Epcot characters at a glance and a smaller listing for the 3 other parks.
This project has had me so busy that all I have purposely stayed away from the boards and haven’t opened my email and have not done one new design.

I didn’t want anything to distract me until I finished this darn project. So now that it is done, if anyone wants a copy, just email me at
chaoscent@verizon.net & I will send it out to you. Take care, Penny
ps - I am happy to report I did not bang the computer more than 3 times this week.
