We are taking our son to WDW to celebrate his college graduation. We've been taking him since he was 6 years old and in some way this feels like the end of his being a kid-though I know he's already 23, lol. And I'm sure we will continue our Disney trips, but this is kind of a milestone.

I thought it would be fun to make him an autograph book with pictures of him and the characters through the years along with blank pages for autographs and a space for the new pictures. It's been many years since he's done autographs, but still loves the characters and I thought this would be fun.

I also found this(pictured below) on ebay and thought this was cute too-it's an autograph graduation Mickey. Obviously-wouldn't do both. The book would be easier to carry, but the Mickey is so unique-I've looked and can't seem to find this anywhere else, I'm guessing it's a discontinued item. If I do the Mickey I'd still make some sort of Disney through the years scrapbook for him to have I think.

Which one?

In case you are wondering, DS is a big ol' Disney/SW nerd-he gets that honestly :rolleyes1- and would not be bashful about asking for the autographs even now that he's going to be an official "adult".

Hi ... congratulations to your son and your family on his college graduation!

My Vote:
Autograph Book

Reasons Why:

* Love the idea of old and new photos so you can see how your son "grew up" during your Disney years
* Easier to carry
* Can do as little or as many pages as you like SO you can get as many autographs as you like (assume there's limited space on the Mickey Doll)
* You can add extra pages for "future" visits and continue adding to the autograph book should you wish to do so
* Big Con for Mickey Doll: it's too hard to write on fabric (in my experience, the writing never turns out well ... always some smearing, marker bleeding or dark spots where the fabric took too much ink ... that's even when I used "fabric" markers intended to be used on fabric)

Good luck! :-)

Edited to Add: To forgot to mention that YES ... the Mickey is adorable!! Can see you why would like to use it for autographs but, for the reasons stated above, I still vote for Autograph book. :-)

I vote for autograph book as well. I love the idea of the through the years photos (I bet the characters will love that too!) and it does seem that the ink might bleed on that fabric that the doll is made of (it seems satin-y). I think the doll would be more awkward, too, in terms of getting the actual signatures. Have a great trip!
