Have you checked Etsy? I haven't but its usually a good place to find anything I'm looking for. A lot of times, the designer will take special requests.
Cute! I like the idea of the pic and autograph on one page. Did the characters get that they needed to sign the underpart or did you have to keep telling them all?
Sometimes we did have to tell them where to sign, but I think I just automatically started saying it...
My DD want sparkly Mickey heads all over the cover. Ordered some online and I think I'm going to get a red fabric to cover some chip board for the cover.. I just hope Kinkos will be able to bind that for me. And hoping the Mickeys and whatever other decorations won't fall off.
That's why I used the plastic page protectors. I did not want anything to fall off! When we got close to the front of the line, I just removed the page from the protector, and had them sign, then put it back in. I brought extra pages in case we needed them. The biggest tip I can give, is put them in a ziploc baggie so they don't get ruined!
First, I LOVE the work all the Dissigners do and the great instructions for making my own autograph book for my grandson's first WDW trip.
I am in need of getting a cover page personalized for him is this possible? I did find a page I like but have no idea how to contact the DISsigner of the page as I am "new" to this.
Thanks for any info 46 days to go!!!
Target just put out some really cute Disney notepads in their $1 section when you 1st walk in. They're about the same size as the "real" autograph books and would work just as well. I like to make a goodie bag for the kids with Disney stuff so I'll probably get a couple of these to throw in.

I'm sure you'll be able to have it personalized. Do you know who the DISigner is that did the one you like? If yes, they post on their thread. Most of the dissigners are listed on the page "Sticky: MEET THE DISIGNERS" which is on the front page of the creative dissigner forum.
They are really quite helpful. Just go there and post away!

I also love the idea of making my own instead of buying the ones at the gift shop on site that only have blank pages. BUT, I really don't have the time to invest on making my own from scratch and last year, my DS was only 2yo so I knew he wasn't really going to get the concept of autograph book just yet. What I ended up doing was ordering a flip book from Snapfish which were uploaded with images I found on the disboards threads that others shared and then we had our own book for less than $8 including shipping! Each page had a different character image so we had them sign in the appropriate page.
After my trip last year, I waited for a discount code with Shutterfly (or it could be Snapfish but I like Shutterfly more for photobooks), and I made a photobook with Disney photos taken on our trip of my DS and characters. One character per page and leaving space for signing and the book was less than $5 shipped. So on our upcoming March trip, I'm bringing this 25 page photobook and it will be our autograph book this year.
Our kids got blank ones at Michael's and some decorating stuff (including character stickers) and personalized them. The CM's gave the girls a lot of compliments on their books, which really gave both of them a lot of pride
Here's the link I used for making my book. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2323160 It tells you everything you need to know and it was very easy to follow. My daughter loved it and did get a lot of attention from several of the characters. They would get excited to see their own personalized page and would show it off to their handlers and such. This time I'm going to do several pages for the major characters. I only had 1 for Snow White for example and had her sign it when we saw her for the first time. We then went to CRT and I didn't have a page for her to sign. I did put generic pages in there for any characters I left out but didn't even thinik of having her sign one of those pages. This time I'll have 5 Mickeys, 5 Cinderellas, etc - just to be safe.

First time, I made two autograph books. One for general meet and greets and one for just the character meals. I always include a few blank pages. I found the general meet and greet was large and got heavy toting around all day in the parks.
Last year, I made one autograph for each park and one for character meals. That way, I didn't have to carry around such a large autograph book.
I found a listing of characters per park and put them in the appropriate book. The cover tells me which park, so it's easy to keep up.
