I know many people like to make their own autograph books. I'm just not crafty so I was just going to purchase the ones at the park. Are they of decent size and quality? If we use a Sharpie, will it leak thru the pages?

Thanks!

In 2006, we bought ours at the Emporium at MK and used one of the big Sharpies and had no problem. Characters signed on both sides of a page. Size wise, I thought they were big enough for signing yet small enough to fit in my kids fanny packs.

Last time we were there (2007), there were 2 (maybe even 3) qualities of Disney autograph books at the parks for sale. Seemed like a reasonable price to me.

I can happily remember running around a certain park because DS was about to fill one up and I needed to find another of the same kind poste haste!

Ah, those were the days. :goodvibes

Oops, forgot to mention our favourite version was the one that had slots for the pictures. Once we got home, we just needed to go through the pictures and insert the ones for the pertinant characters.

I tried to make my own autograph book this trip and it turned out to be a flop. I binded it myself and it fell to pieces before we got our 1st autograph.:laughing: So off to the store to purchase one. They had several to choose from. My dd chose the tinkerbell with the slots for the pictures($10.50) and ds (who didn't want to get autographs this time) go the traditional blue with all the characters on the cover. ($6) We stayed for 7 days and my daughter filled her book up and used my son's (because he didn't end up getting many autographs after all :sad2:) Now that we are home, my daughter loves her book with the picture and even takes it to school to show everyone. :teacher:

Thanks everyone. I'll probably buy them when we get there. It will make the kids think that they got to buy something in the store and hopefully get rid of the gimmies that day.

:cool1:

If you don't mind carrying the little extra weight or spending more money (or the child is carrying/buying them themselves) you could buy the blue book and the photo book. The blue book can have pics glued to the opposite page but they will stick out unless trimmed a bit. So I would use the photo one for my favorites, and the blue one for the random characters that you don't love but want to meet and get autographs/pictures......a possibility. I always just use the blue book and bring a jubilee of sharpies to choose from. Just have the sharpie picked ahead of time, instead of getting up there, handing the book to the character, then needing to rustle through your backpack, pull out the giant ziplock of Sharpies, and pick 1. Hassle for you, longer wait time for those behind you, and awkwardness for the characters sometimes.

We always bought the pens that they sold where we bought the autograph books. I found that you could see the Sharpie through the pages.
We'll be buying another Vinylmation Mickey for signatures for our upcoming trip.

BTW, if you are staying at a Disney resort, go to the front desk and ask for a pen or 2. They will give you either white or black ones that say Walt Disney World on the side and they last FOREVER!!! If you buy one and it runs out, go to any store and exchange it for a new one at no cost. Awesome!
