We're packing for our trip next week. I know there's been discussion of whether or not sharpies are okay for the autograph books....searched but can't find any recent answers. What's the current character preference? Sharpie or washable marker?

Our DD used the "fat" sharpies for hers, and they worked great. It makes it easier for characters to grip the pen.

The thicker sharpies that are the click kind (without a separate top) are the best for the characters (especially those like Tigger, Mickey, Pluto, ect with big costume hands).

It's also been posted that the characters don't like green sharpies.

It seems that's the only color they can't remove if it gets on their costume.

Washable markers won't keep in your book very well. I'm looking more towards a fat pen instead of a marker since my kids have made their own albums and have a place for an autograph and a photo (speaking of .... think I'd better get them working on finishing them up)

We've used these with great success on two trips. They're easy for the characters to hold and show up really well in the book. Our first trip we used the fat pen but I love the look of the colored sharpies better.

I bought the click-type Sharpies in multiple colors for our trip next June. I plan to use one color for each day. I'll try to leave the green for last...

Just a heads up, it has been reported that some charectors REFUSE to use the green sharpies at all (I saw it w/ my own eyes but it was the people in front of me), the clicks seem to work the best and many of the charectors have thier own now. I remember Peter Pan, Wendy, Hook, and Mad Hatter having thier own sharpie clicks last year.

We used the click sharpies and they worked great. The colors looked great. Only problem was my DS accidentally got Sharpie on himself a few times and it doesn't wash out. We had to make the rule - no clicking until you get up to the character.

We had no problem with the green sharpie.
