I was hoping to buy my daughter's autograph book before we go. Last time we went, we missed out the princesses we saw at CRT when we arrived before the park opened. This time we are hoping to go straight to Elsa and Anna, and I don't want to waste time buying a book. I looked online at the Disney Store, and it has about five to choose from - 2 princesses, 2 of the whole gang, 1 Minnie Mouse. Does the park have more of a selection? If so, does Main Street and its shops open before the park? Thanks!

Sadly they are the same. I really wish they would get a new design. Lately I've made new covers for DS and my Villains Unleashed one got lots of attention from CMs.

From what I've seen, the parks have the same selection as what you can get at DisneyStore.com in the "disney parks product" section.

We always pre order our 1st set (usually end up with 3 or 4 per kid), bonus is they usually have buy 3 or more parks products and save 25%

If you're going to meet lots of characters and are at all crafty or like making digital photo books, check out the creative DISigns forum right here. Designers make all kinds of awesome autograph page designs you can download free and turn into your own customized book. I love it because you can print pages specific to character meals and also individual pages designed for each character you want to do a meet & greet with. I print mine on card stock at home and get them spiral bound at an office store; lots of people seem to upload designs to shutterfly (or similar) and order as a 5x7 or 8x8 photo book. Don't forget to print some general disney pages for extra characters you didn't plan on or duplicate meets.

Quick question here before getting sucked into DISigns (I love that forum!) ... if they're printing at Shutterfly isn't it glossy paper and if so won't that be undesirable for signatures? I'm thinking smearing if sharpie, and unwritable with pen.

I'm not sure if the people on that forum get their books printed on matte finish, or if that matters, but I've not seen complaints about how they turned out. I'm guessing sharpie (I love the retractable "clicking" ones so you don't have a lid to drop) and maybe just give it a minute to dry. Ball point definitely wouldn't work well.

One of the autograph books they are selling in the parks right now comes with a blue pen and has really dark blue pages -- bad design. We returned ours after opening it and got merch credit. The one with 2015 on the cover has lighter blue pages -- we went with that one.

We bought the "Deluxe Princess Autograph Book and Photo Album" the last time we were at Disney, and it is AWESOME!!! Each Princess has her own special area (We didn't have Anna and Else, And I would bet that they didn't add them in...) and an area for them to sign and another to paste in a picture of the meeting next to the autograph. There is also some cute questions to fill in on each princess, which would be great as you are waiting for a meal, transportation, or in a line. Especially considering, you will ALREADY be carrying it, so its not an extra thing to carry. If I remember correctly, there was a pen holder, which fit a sharpie well. There were extra pages to get the signatures of "non-princesses".
BUT...My favorite BY FAR, thing about this was the pockets to keep the mementos that are attached to each princess. Perfect place for the wishing star from CRT, The fast pass card from Enchanted Tales (if they are still offering the card), a pressed coin, etc.
Totally worth the extra money, is sturdier, and the pages open flat because they are bound spirally, unlike the books that are bound.
