There are a bunch of these threads on the creative DIsigns board and if you do a search here on the tips board, you can even find some pics posted. Hope you enjoy them....they are great. :thumbsup2

I got small scapbook (like notebooks with a ring) and some Disney stickers at Michaels' craft store. The kids decorated them and then we used them as autograph books. Tip: Bring a Fat pen for signing as some characters have thick gloves etc on and a fat pen is easier to grip.

Have a great trip!

We actually love to use the official Disney autograph book. They have new ones out where there is room to insert a picture of the character you are getting the autograph from. When we were there in April they had Princess ones and 50th Anniversary ones. I loves the 50th anniversary ones because it really shows the year we were there.

The Dis design boards are great for autograph book ideas and will inspire you to make your own -- There are reall some great ideas there. I am not so talented as those disers, so I have used the clip art sites in the sticky there and have created albumns with clip art. Just a picture in the corner with plenty of room for a signature. They are about 5x7 and printed on card stock. I will take them to a printer to be spiral bound (about $5). If you do this, don't forget blank pages too.

There are also some character lists that are very helpful to go by...otherwise you could end up with pages for characters that you are unlikely to see. However, if you go to MNSSHP, you probably will be able to obtain autographs from characters that aren't usually out the rest of the year. I found a site wdwautographs (sorry, I am too new to post link) that has a comprehensive list of characters and also states when/where they saw the character and how frequently they are seen. Also, the site disneyautographbooks has a very nice selection of autograph books -- I haven't ordered from there, but would if I wasn't making my own.

Have fun..you have a lot of time to enjoy planning!

I had read about characters needing "more of a pen to grip" than you or I. So I took with me a pen that I made for our wedding. It was actually a Sharpie marker (fine tip) that I had covered it with green floral tape to attach a bright yellow sunflower on the top of it. Every character played with that pen. Woody pretended to give it to Jessie. Mickey smelled it. Big Al put it behind my husband's ear. The princesses that we met all commented on how pretty it was. It was a hoot!
I think the fact that it was a little bit different was very good!
Just thought that I would add this info to the conversation!

I did this for my trip last year and got soooo much attention from the characters it was great! I'm 29 and there were no kids in my party.

I've shared the pages with others for their trips and their kids have been showered with extra :wizard: from the characters.

There's a link in my sig if anyone would like to take a look :goodvibes

Another idea I read from someone else: Get autographs not just from the characters but everyone! The airline pilot/flight attendant, the taxi/bus driver, the restaurant waitress/chef, the front desk clerk, etc.

I know everyone is really busy, so I won't ask people if they look swamped. But I think it would be a fun keepsake for my boys. But I am going to tell my boys that they can get an autograph from anyone they want to ask. If that person is really busy, we'll try to ask at a less busy time.

The OP who did this said everyone they asked was so flattered by the request that they wrote some of the funniest, loveliest, and more memorable messages to the child.

Oh, and I am using the Creative Memories Disney 7x7 album. It's cranberry red with a black Mickey head on the front, very cute. I wanted to make sure that whatever I used would be acid/lignen-free and durable, so I have cut out 4x6 rectangles from acid-free colored paper (12x12) for signatures. I'm keeping these in a small plastic envelope meant to hold 4x6 photos, and will present them on a mini-clipboard for signing. I also bought a variety pack of big Sharpies, so we'll have autographs in different colors.

I wasn't sure how many autographs the boys will collect, or which characters/people we'll get them from, so will wait until we get home to decorate the album pages with stickers and photos and autographs.

Go to the parks board and do a search, we've been having an ongoing shareathon for a week or so and there are tons of ideas there!
