Autograph book - bring from home or buy at Disney?

Any ideas where to get one at home? I thought about using 4 x 6 index cards and putting them in a small photo album along with photos, as someone suggested, but it seems like the individual cards may be awkward and difficult for the characters to handle?

How much are they at Disney? I assume they're available everywhere, including hotel (AllStar) gift shops?

We use 6x8 spiral bound scrapbooks that I get at our chain craft stores, with their 40% or 50% off coupons. They work really well -- each page can be rolled back to give to the character open and flat. We try to have autograph on one facing page -- leaving the facing page blank for photos with the character. I also put velcro on the front of the book and on the sharpie pen (put the loop side on the pen so it doesn't stick to the character!), so the pen stays with the book and is easy to find. I think the Disney books are only about $7.00 but they're smaller and look harder to handle; they're not spiral-bound, so they're not easy for little ones to keep open to the "right" page to be signed either.
I don't think the cards would work very well - hard to handle for the characters and kids.

We bought the book at the Disney hotel each trip and I do believe they were around $7.00. These books worked fine for us.

I was just looking at that exact type book at Michaels today.
But I didn't buy it. It seemed a bit large to carry around?
Maybe I'll go back and get it tomorrow.

Thanks!
That'll be my Plan B if I don't get to the store tomorrow.
(We're leaving Wed.)

If you buy the ones at Disney, have the characters sign on the right hand page. When you get your pictures back, tape the picture of your child with the character on the left hand side. My children are too young to read but they love looking at their autograph books because they can tell who signed it.

Oh, thank you! That's the other thing I was wondering... if that would work with the Disney book. I think we probably will be buying them there, so he can be involved in the purchase (and time is winding down - we leave tomorrow). He still doesn't know we're going.

email me and i'll send you pics of what mine looks like that i made. i still haven't figured out how to post pics.
i bought a spiral book form AC moore, then printed the pages with each character and name on it then put it all back together i also attached a mini sharpie to the spiral so it doesn't get lost but i will have the jumbo sharpied as well if the mini get to hard to handle for the characters.

i also bought laminate to cover the front page in case it gets wet so the ink won't bleed
