auto train question

We are taking the auto train in june to sanford and we have a family of 7. I was wondering when doyou get the seats assigned?
and if you can get your family to sit together? One more question,
after you get your seats assigned do you have to board the train at that time or can you stay outside?

Your seats are assigned when you check in inside.

Once your car is checked - it can't go anywhere.

Once you are checked in - feel free to wander in or outside of the station.
