Auto Ins SUV vs Sedan

We are in the market for a new car, currently drive a Toyota Camry and are considering the possibility of an SUV such as an Chevy Equinox or Ford Escape. My question is about insurance is the coverage for an SUV typically going to be higher than that of a sedan. Thanks,

Insurance rates are determined by an insurance companies claims history with a specific made and model, not vehicle type.
You really need to call your insurance agent and have them run the numbers on a specific vehicle to see.

In my case, our Mercury Mountaineer and Chevy Suburban SUV's are less expensive to insure than our Focus and our Taurus.
