Autistic sons birthday party vent

The party turned out okay. We managed to round up 11 people to attend. My other children brought friends and a few special needs kids from his afterschool group showed up. It turned out great!

I have no family or friends in Texas. What little family I have is a thousand miles away so that really limits me. Thank you all for being so nice. It means so much to me!!

Well, thank goodness it was all right. I'm sorry for the stress you went through.

Do you have a local autism society? All of my close local friends are moms of kids with autism and we all live on the same planet. I wouldn't know how to live without them! I highly suggest if you don't have something like this that you try to get something started. We had our monthly autism chat this morning for breakfast (it usually lasts well into lunch) and we had a group of 8 attend today...sometimes we have more, sometimes less. These are the people who would LOVE to bring their kids to my son's bowling party, KWIM?
