Aussie Disneyland Planners come on in and lets plan together :)

I think I am a bit depressed since we returned. Not having a trip coming up until at least 2011 is making it hard to get through the day at work. :guilty:

Start planning soon we are going over for 4 to 6 days (still working on it) in Jan/Feb for our anniversary was not planned to do a trip until Nov cost worked out so far to cost just under $3300 for two with buying deluxe annual passes and not including spending money, the Aussie Dollar is only to go up and also coming up are the New Year discounts and keep daydreaming that helps me I know the Disney Blues can get bad at times chin up.

Aussiegirls and Melbarkwith WOOHOO!!!!

Hope the excitement overpowers the crazy panic ;)
For me there is nothing better than that moment when you are finally sitting on the plane, seatbelt on, the doors closed, being towed out of the gate.
At that moment you are on your way...and you can start to breathe again....

OMG OMG OMG only 6 more sleeps here :dance3:  We leave after work on Friday :dance3:

xxx

:cool1::cool1:

Finally, under 100 days

Here's hoping they fly past... :cool2:

They will go so fast that you won't believe it. I wrote a 100 days to go pre trip report last year, and reviewed it before we went. Somethings changed, but both dh and I couldn't remember where the time went!

How exciting!!! We have 15 days to go, and we can't wait :goodvibes

2 weeks - how cool. The countdown is on!!!

Well, I've got, ummmm, 11 months at average 30 days, + some weeks + plus something else...... let's try Excel to help! 347 Sleeps to Go. Give or take a few :laughing::laughing:

So jealous of everyone who only has a few days to go!!

I have 70 days left!

I found out earlier in the week that my direct flight from Brisbane to LA has been cancelled and I've been put on a flight via Sydney. Not very happy about that, as I would have gotten into LA at 7am but now I don't get there til 4pm!! I lose out on a whole day! At least my flight back is still direct.

I bought my LA Lakers ticket earlier in the week! I'm really looking forward to seeing some awesome basketball.

That is the moment when I stop breathing. I hate flying. I am usually ok once we are in the air, but the lead up to a flight always make me nervous.

LesleyP Our direct flight from LAX to BNE was also cancelled. It has added an extra 5 hours onto our journey home. Not what I need with a baby and 2 pre-schoolers.

Was this a Qantas flight by any chance, now going via Auckland? Same thing happened to us.

The flight change that has annoyed me the most though is the Delta one leaving WDW (to New York). I deliberately picked the latest flight I could get so as to enjoy a full last day there. Now it has been changed to 2pm, and the worst part is there is now another flight with that same airline leaving at the origianal time! Bad DELTA!! I haven't even flown with them yet and already I hate them!

The airlines have absolutely no regard for their cutomers. :sad2:

It is VAustralia.

We are flying Delta LA - Orlando, and return. Our return flight is not very full and I am worried they will cancel it and put us on a non-direct flight.

Have you spoken to Delta about changing back to the original time? There are often threads about this in the transportation board.

I've just found a number for Delta in Australia so plan on calling them tomorrow. Thanks for the tip about the transportation board; I'm going to head over there now and see if I can get some info. :thumbsup2

How long till your Delta flight? Honestly, nothing would surprise me now in regards to flight changes.

1 week to go here :)

I've been busy sewing to pass the time. Started getting bags organised last night which makes it all the more real. I had already had suitcases out and was throwing things in there bu tlast night was a proper sort through and fold.

Hubby is watching Bathurst so I doubt much will be done today :)

Lesley, V changed our flight to LA to the day before so we didn't miss out on any time at DL. Maybe ring and ask if that suits you. I was just heartbroken that we had to go to DL a day earlier:rotfl:

Also make sure you check your flight home, as our direct LAX-MEL flight was cancelled and we also have to go through Sydney.

You leave just before us! We leave in 1 week and 6 days. In fact we should just be touching down in NY this time 2 weeks from today (assuming we make the 2 hour connection Qantas has allowed for in LAX :confused3 - as you can probably tell I'm a bit grumpy with all the airlines at the moment).

I checked out the transportation board and found other people have had the same issue with Delta (and other airlines), because it's apparently a very common tactic of Delta's. I plan on calling Delta Australia tomorrow.

I've been meaning to start packing for weeks and still haven't gotten around to it. I went to NZ in July and since returning, my suitcase has been sitting on my bedroom floor and the closest I have come to packing has been to throw things in the suitcase instead of putting things away in the cupboard. :rotfl2: DH has been in Darwin for the past 2 weeks and I'm waiting for him to return so that I can use those cases too.

On a brighter note, I can't believe the dollar has gone up so much lately! :) Hope it stays that way till I get to the bank later this week.

Our first flight is next Saturday. That one looks like it is fully booked.

When I booked our flights, there was not anywhere that I could add an infant. First of all I rang the Australian number, and they had me ring the Delta call centre. The operator there did not have a clue and kept telling me I 'just had to go to the Sydney office to get a paper ticket'. I then rang the Sydney number back and after some reluctance, they helped me.

Sounds like Delta sucks in every aspect. One wonders why they even have an Australian number if they're going to redirect you to their (presumably US) call centre. And their response to 'simply go to Sydney' was ridiculous :sad2:

Especially when I am in Brisbane. I am sure she thought everything in Australia was within driving distance from Sydney. The toll free number for the call centre (if you are brave enough to try it) is 1800 144 917.

My DH has also been away for 2 weeks. He will be home tonight. I need his suitcase, and his washing so I can start getting organised.

I know this sounds horrible  but have any of you given your young children a little " something " to sleep on the plane ?
We will have a 3 , 5 , 7 and 9 year old on a 12 hr flight and need some ideas

Hee he, I'm in Brisbane too - just a short walk to Sydney. :lmao:

I just phoned Expedia AU. The lady was nice but I'm still no better off as her system was showing my original flight time. She's supposed to be getting back to me later in the week. Despite my knowing about this change for a few weeks she says an 'official' email could still take some weeks as the system (Expedia or Delta, not sure) has thousand of bookings to process? :confused3:confused3.

I'll call Delta tomorrow - it'll be interesting to see if they'll ask me to pop into their Sydney office. :rotfl:

I hope your Delta flights go well next week. How long are you staying at WDW for?

The call centre problem is getting worse with all the non Australian airlines.
This is my one gripe with United. Depending on when you call affects which call centre you get. If it is during the US working day time you get the US which is FANTASTIC!!!! They are wonderful staff who have helped immensely. Other times of day you get sent to Malaysia I think it is....bleah....AWFUL...no point talking to them.
On the plus side their flight times are almost set in stone for the Oz-US route so it doesn't change on you.

As to everything being near Sydney....so are you telling me Brisbane isn't near Sydney!!! How about Perth???? I was sure it was part of the Western suburbs of Sydney!!! :lmao:
