Aussie Disneyland Planners come on in and lets plan together :)

Can anyone who lives in Sydney answer a question for me?

We're staying overnight in Sydney on Sunday night before we fly out to LA on Monday. We arrive in Sydney from Perth at 6pm. My fiance really wants to go and have a look at the harbour bridge while we are there. So I was thinking maybe we could go down there for dinner or an ice-cream or something. Just not sure how far away from the airport it was or how long it would take to get there. We'd have to catch a taxi there and back I guess. We're staying overnight at the Sydney Stamford Plaza hotel which is right next to the airport I think.

Rossip gave most of the info.
I think that is about right....I would allow 30mins to get from the Airport to the City because our roads are a mess.

Remember to look out the window of the plane when you arrive from Perth and leave from Sydney as you can sometimes get a great view. The Tower stuffed around our pilot last time we came in from the US and we flew over 1/2 the city.

Might I suggest getting the taxi to Circular Quay as from here you can see the bridge and the opera house. I think that is about the best....it is certainly one of the simplest and there are food places around there.

I just went to: http://www.worldtaximeter.com/sydney/domestic+airport/CBD
which seems fairly accurate....but it could be wrong.
It estimated Distance: 14.60 km. | Duration: 23 min.
And a MAX Total AU$40.04 (including traffic and waiting etc.)

I would of guessed around $40 as well!

Like everyone has mentioned Circular Quay is the best place to go. Beautiful at night and you'll be able to walk around to the Opera House if you'd like, or all the way to the Bridge. Getting a cab back shoudn't be an issue either.

:flower3:
I just remembered this...
just thought I would post it incase people hadn't heard of it.

Not everyone seems to sell it. I believe harveyworld travel do??? But expedia is also supposed to.

We bought our Disneyland 14 day ticket off Expedia a couple of months ago. I'm very grateful to whomever posted that link originally as it saved us almost $500 off the Harvey World brochure price.:flower3:

I phoned a couple of Flight Centres about the pass and they hadn't heard of it. :sad2:

That was part of the reason for posting it. We have a wonderful TA who we deal with for booking flights and she hasn't heard of it and can't find any info on it. She just doesn't have access to it?
It just seems so ridiculous having this special offer that only a select group of TAs have AND sell for overinflated brochure prices.

hi everyone. here is a dumb last minute question, do the expedia 14 day tickets include the early entry at all? I don't think they do, but the voucher mentions early entry??

Feel totally disorganised today. thought I would have everything under control and now I find myself worrying about where to sit for the fireworks etc etc.

I'm not sure.
It is currently offered to those staying on site I believe so I hadn't really thought about it (we are staying at VGC)
I would love a definitive answer on this as well from those who know???
It is included on 3- 4- and 5- day park hoppers bought from the disney site and good neighbour hotels...but you only get one MM during those 3, 4 or 5 days.

If it says it on the voucher I think it would though.

In defence of agents, the brochures are printed annually and will reflect an exchange rate closer to 0.65 than the current 0.85. However, if you actually ask them a quote the wholesalers will use newer rates for your costing.

No, it does not. I emailed Expedia when I brought ours, and this was the reply:

Your Disneyland tickets do not include admission to Magic Morning, this promotion is only valid for the 3-, 4-, and 5-day admission tickets.

I just went and found our passes from last time (still in my handbag along with some fastpasses, it's really sad :rotfl2: ). They include one early entry.

Have fun!

They are good at adding on surcharges if the dollar drops but in my experience...and I have asked...they do not reduce the cost from the brochure price.

I rang to ask and the guy wasn't sure so rang Disney to find out and it doesn't include early entry. I really wish it did. :(

When we went last November we didn't have any problems finding spots for the fireworks. Bring a blanket though so you can save a whole space or people will sit too close and they'll be not enough room for your family.

Don't give up on it yet. Two years ago, those tickets did include early entry. (I don't think it was on the voucher either, but it's definitely on the Disney tickets and the CM wrote the early entry days on it for us)

Also, I remember someone was after the US dollar value of the 14 day tickets for possibly upgrading to AP's. Again, the prices are 2 years old, but the kids tickets were $169 US and the adults $199 US.

That would be B-R-I-L-L-I-A-N-T. I'll try not to get my hopes up though.

Ok so that probably didn't work. Go to expedia.com.au click on Attractions on the tab at the top and then choose La and it's there.

i just checked our voucher for the 14 day vacation pass, it definately includes one magic morning....so fingers crossed yours does too

The ones on expedia dont offer magic morning for the 14 day pass according to the site.
