Aurora's New Look Debuts at Walt Disney World

I have two photos with Aurora in the same location and same pose - thought some may like to see a direct comparison... just look past the preggers belly on the red head ;)

Great picture comparison! I love the way the new dress flares a little on the hem at the bottom. Also, I'm not a big velvet fan.

No one is talking about the crown. I LOVE the new crown! It looks more authentic to me.

The bolded annoys me the most!!! Could Disney casting not look in the gyms and find an accurate Gaston? i find that impossible, given today's "GTL" culture. If we can't an Alice over 5'2, i don't want a Gaston with less than a 28 inch neck!!

That made me laugh! :rotfl2:

Berlioz70- your pregnant belly is adorable! way to rock the belly at WDW! also, i am loving your mickey mouse shoes, where did you get those?!

I don't know anything about if this is real or not but I do think that Aurora is the one Princess that has never looked right when we've gone. Her wig is always a bit off/very fake looking and she's never the prettiest of girls (despite being Sleeping Beauty). So it wouldn't surprise me one bit to learn that this is an accurate photo

You hit the nail right on the head with this one! DS used to be into the princesses when he was little, and we always had to check out Aurora before we got in line. They have a hard time getting that one right.

I just don't like the new outfit, I don't necessarily agree that the particular friend looks like a man, but she does remind me of someone in a snl skit

Absolutely hate the new look! The dress looks nothing like the movie (what is with the pattern all over it?) Very disappointed.

It's an improvement but like Belle's new dress, the colors are off. Why not stick to the colors from the movies? O~o

I was really scared I was the only one that didn't like the pattern! Just have it match the movie! I didn't dislike the old look but agree it wasn't quite right... not sure if this is much better... now it seems even farther away from the movie. Not saying I hate it, I was just hoping for something different. I too, would SUPER love to see the blue dress as well.

I like it! The wig was worrisome in that first picture, but in the Aurora out and about at Epcot, the wig is much better. I HATED that velvet dress and I agree with a previous poster that it added at least 10 lbs to every Aurora out there. Even the skinny minnies were not done any justice by the velvet and bulky wrinkly sleeves. imo of course ;)

I like the way this skirt flows when she walks.

The wig has always been bad, but I guess it does look like Aurora's hair, so maybe it's the only accurate part!

This friend looks like the friend in the Belle debut. Very pretty girl.

Sadly, We are a bit of a tough crowd it seems though when it comes to the friends' beauty. Hard to replicate a drawing or digitally enhanced image in a real person.

I am not crazy about the patterned fabrics in the new gowns. Makes them look old rather than "fresh" to me.

I think the patterned fabric is probably better at camouflaging the Mickey's premium chocolate finger smudges it is likely to get throughout the day.

But it also doesn't seem to be the sort of fabric that would hold up to the repeated cleanings needed. I'm kind of surprised to see them go for a filmy fabric like this for that reason. I'll be very curious to see it in person.

I prefer the new dress and crown. I'm not crazy about the hair, but I can understand how it would be difficult to get a wig that is that long and still looks good.

I love all the princesses. So that said, I like the new dress, but I'm old school and wish it looked more exquisite and princessy looking. Can't wait to see it in person. Like I said, I love the princesses!

About the old dress... It always looked authentic and very well made, but the velvet was so thick, it must have weighed a ton along with adding bulk to the princesses wearing it. So I'm glad the princesses' dresses might be a bit more comfortable and lightweight for them, and the new dress is pretty, but I wish it was fancier. If the old dress could be made from a thinner velvet, I'd like that a lot.

Our Aurora from our last trip was stunning. Her lipstick matched the dress perfectly. She was very striking in person. She looked like a real princess, imo (and she knew it too, lol). In fact all the princesses in the castle that day were quite amazing and authentic looking.

So not digging the dress or the hair. :( The hair color is fine but it looks a bit of a mess. I don't love some of the helmet head wigs they use but this one seems worse. Saw nothing wrong with Aurora's dress before. If it ain't broke, I wish they wouldn't try to fix it. :rolleyes2

The dress is ok, but that wig! Look how you can see right through it over her shoulder. Maybe if it were styled better. Poor Aurora. She always has the worst hair of the Princesses.

Bed Head. She did sleep for a very long time.

Not to worry. It's worth it in the end. Although my first "baby" turns 20 in a couple weeks. And I'm still waiting on my belly to pop back IN. ;)

:rotfl2:

I really like the new dress. Not a fan of the hair though.

And I disagree about the Aurora's in the park, our last visit the only princess my hubbie thought was "hot" was one of the Aurora's we saw at CRT. She was very beautiful.

I'm not going to bash on anyone's looks, but I will say a lot of the princesses we saw puzzled us as to how they got the part. One Belle we saw had to have been in her mid-30's at least. She was a pretty woman in my opinion but too old for the part. So yeah, I don't think "not fitting the part" is an issue specific to Sleeping Beauty.

I agree with other posters, Aurora always looks really weird in the parks. Her wig is the worst!

I bet the new dress is so much cooler in the FL heat than the heavy velvet one!

I think the dress is fine. The hem looks flimsey in the first photo, but in the park photos it's not so bad.

I was never a fan of her hair or her crown on any of the girls I've seen at WDW or DL. I feel the same way about the new hair and crown.

This pic does look much better than the original one I saw. The wig in this one is very nice. Maybe the original one I saw wasn't put on quite right. LOL The dress is pretty, but I wish they would've stuck with the hot pink. This one's a bit pale. Could be worse though I guess. :)

Oh, I agree too. Many times the girls picked for a given princess leaves me scratching my head. By no means does that mean the girl is not pretty. It just means she does not fit the role she is cast in.

On our last trip the Jasmine we saw at CRT was not middle eastern. Quite odd.

2 complaints: leave the tiaras alone.... I don't like 'em bedazzled!
also, Aurora's lips should be like the red, red rose, yet none of them are wearing red lipstick.

That's all. The friends are perfectly pretty in the new dress.
