Hi,

I've just learned about a children's only "alice in wonderland party" at GF for $28.50 per child and it's every day 1:30-2:30PM and a breakfast/lunch with Aurora also at the GF but it runs 10:30-12:00PM every day and an adults can go. The child also gets an 18" doll, bracelet, and I forget if anything else, but it's $250.00 for 1 child and 1 adult!! Is this worth it? Aurora is my daughter's favorite princess but oh my God what a price!

Thoughts are very appreciated!

Sarah

I don't think the Aurora tea party is worth that kind of money. Maybe if I somehow got a bonus or unexpected money and/or if it was a birthday gift.

My girls LOVED the Alice Tea party. They've done it 3 times I think. They get to decorate a cupcake and play games with Alice and the Mad Hatter. They'll get an autographed photo as well. My 11 year old is bummed that she is too old for it now.

We did both for DD our first trip. I will break them down seperately for you so it makes sense. (sometimes I ramble)

The tea party was in the place where 1900 park fare is (1900 park fare is being refurbished so I am not sure where it will be right now) We dropped off DD, they sat at the table (hint if your child is outgoing sit them toward a table end, dd wasnt so sure so she sat 2nd out from a table end) and waved goodbye to the adults, we were given a pager and shooed out.

To kill time Dh and I had a drink and snack at the GF pool bar and wandered around the resort. We picked her up, she had a surprise for us and a photo they had taken.

DD loved it, she still jokes about the mad hatter and how crazy he is. She would go back in a heart beat. It looks like they may have decorated and eaten cupcakes for thier party.

The Perfectly Princess tea party, also at the GF. I was so excited to book and do this. DD loves Aurora, it is her fav. princess. We dressed her up in her aurora dress and set out. After checking in you wait for her name to be called and she is "crowned" princess. Then you are seated and Brian Rose entertians you. The food was okay, nothing to write home about but okay. The problem I ran into here is that DD remembers her manners, she waits patiently to meet Aurora, etc. Several other kids were so pushy that is was hard for all the kids to hang with Aurora untill she came around to each table to see each girl. We also got a charm braclet, doll and flower. We then went to the gift shop to adopt the doll. I would say there was around 15-20 girls there, plus a parent. Aurora only comes out the last 30 min. She dances with the kids, tours around the place. So maybe it was 2 min tops alone with Aurora, it was sign the book, smile for the picture, next!

It wasnt in my mind as good as I had thought it would be, it just wasnt worth the $200+ that I paid for it. DD hasnt really mentianed it since, but she does talk about the alice tea party.

So spend the $28 for the tea party and take your DD to Akerhaus to meet Aurora for a meal, the princess party wasnt worth it for us.

ITA with the pp. My kids love the Wonderland Tea Party - this will be their 4th time! With the money we saved by not going to Aurora's Tea Party (it would have been me and 2 dds) we were able to go on a Wishes Cruise and do Grand Adventures in Cooking or the Pirate Cruise.

My kids think the Wonderland Tea Party is so much fun because of the Mad Hatter. Even ds (6) has gone twice because Mad Hatter is his favorite character. Just my opinion, but I don't think the other Tea Party is worth the money!

Thanks so much! It's really helped in making my decision.

I'm going for the Alice Tea Party! It sounds great! I'm doing the Princess Storybook, so she'll see Aurora there.

Thanks again!

Sarah

Hope your Daughter enjoys her tea.....!:)

Wow, I love the pictures!! I just showed my daughter and she is soooo excited!

Thanks so much for sharing! I wish I was going now......so long to wait.

Question: I have the BBB Salon reserved at 9:30AM, then the castle for breakfast at 10:20AM (I considered switching to lunch, but I didn't care for the menu as much), do you think it would be overkill to book the Alice Tea party at 1:30PM that same day? I was just thinking that she'd be all done up and it would be cute.

Thanks again!

Lindy Loo-where did you find the Alice dress? My DD is totally into Alice right now and I have her booked for the Tea Party as a surprise. She'd love to have a dress to wear.

My DD LOVED the Aurora tea party. Yeah, it is expensive but it was so worth it. I paid for her & my mom to go, and DD still talks about it almost 2 years later. Aurora is her favorite princess, and we were there during a slow time, so there were only a handful of other girls there (about 10 girls including DD) so the character interaction was great. And DD loved Briar Rose. Also, the doll they give the girls is a very nice American Girl-style doll, which did make the price easier to swallow considering what we've paid for AG dolls for her. The Princess Aurora doll is still DD's favorite and occupies a place of honor on her headboard. :)

DD did the Wonderland Tea Party last year and it was wonderful! Here is the link where we got her dress: www.theatricalshop.com. Click on Halloween, next screen click Child, then the next Storybook to the side for the category for the Alice in Wonderland dress. It is under "Sweet Alyce" (and boy did it take weeks of searching google to find such a good deal $39.99!). The dress is semi-matte taffeta with a crinoline underneath; the apron is 100% cotton and washable. It was by far the prettiest and most affordable dress I found and we have gotten many wearings out of it for Halloween, storybook day at school, and her birthday party this spring. Good luck dress shopping and have a great time at the tea party!:thumbsup2
