Aulani Waitlist for June

I had a question on waitlisting at Aulani. I'm currently on the waitlist for either a 2 bd or 1 bd ocean view in June. Anyone know if this is due to rooms not being in inventory yet? Do I make sense?

I understand that the next phase may be opening in the coming months, are those rooms "available" to book for that June set of dates or not until the phase is complete?

thanks

On other posts I've seen the suggestion that many rooms are not in inventory because not enough points have been sold yet. So even though the rooms are "ready" they still belong to DVD and not DVC. Thus, when the points are sold and they are declared into DVC inventory instead of developer inventory, rooms will become available.
At least this seems to be the extrapolation from how past resorts have opened up as they have sold. Not sure if they match waitlists based on inventory being declared into DVC so perhaps best to keep calling to check on availability? :confused3

I've been trying to get studios or or a two bedroom in Aulani for June 10-15. I have one standard view studio - the last one available at that time. I have one studio with Poolside view - but am waitlisted for a two bedroom. Unfortunately, I was told that fisrt, as they are not fully sold out, there are rooms not available for points for DVC members, but are available for cash. Also, unlike the other DVC resorts, Aulani can be purchased in points or as specific timeshares e.g 2 bedroom the second week of June - and the DVC owner has that 2 bedroom every second week of June. That takes a number of them off the available list. Apparently, a number of Japanese DVC members prefer that certainty, and it is the way DVC has been able to sell Aulani.

Thanks for the responses. I guess I'll just ride it out until the end of February or when the airfare gets ridiculous. I always have the Fantasy for New Years to fall back on :)

It could be because of multiple reasons--some of the rooms have not been declared for DVC use as yet. We don't know the availability figures for Aulani as the declarations are not viewable online like they are in Florida. Only phases one and two are open. And lastly, June is turning out to be a very popular month for DVC members because through June 24th it's Choice Season.

I have a 2BR L/O Island View reserved from June 15-23 and am on the waitlist to change to a 2BR dedicated. I was wondering the same thing.
June seems pretty booked up at the resort, probably due to point requirements and limited number of declared units available for DVC. My understanding is that when new units are declared, they will be available for those on the waitlist (if they weren't purchased as fixed weeks)

It would be helpful to know which weeks have x% sold as fixed weeks, that would help with future planning for both owners and non owners. Wonder if you will be able to see those as booked weeks prior to the 11mo mark once the online booking system is available.

For those on a waitlist with no other accomodation reserved, might be a good idea to rent your points and pay cash for the villa. Not sure how that all works out. Don't think you get the DVC discount until your w/in x days of travel...

I guess I am one of the lucky ones. I have a reservation for a 2BR Ocean View for the week beginning June 24. I made it exactly at the 7 month mark at 9:00 in the morning when they opened.

We already own at the Marriott Ko Olina and will spend the first week there, then move over to Aulani for the second week.
