Aulani Room Request...with a twist

Apologies if this is already in a thread somewhere but I couldn't find the exact combination of variables...

We've booked a (cash) stay at Aulani for 12/23-12/30/22. We've also just gone into the ROFR wait for 220 pts at Aulani. Barring anything extraordinary, I'd expect we close sometime in Aug/Sep. Maybe Oct worst case

Do I request a specific room/area/floor now? Wait until we are actual DVC members? Or it won't matter b/c it's a cash stay during the busiest week of the year?

It won't matter because it is a cash stay during Christmas week. Being a DVC member or not won't have any impact on the request.
