Aulani Resort Model Room Pics

We will definitely be staying there, but most likely will not add on.

I like the decor, but I'm of the "not-so-particular" type. As long as I'm on vacation, I'm a happy girl.

Like others, I'm anxious to see what the point charts look like. And I do like the idea of staying a night or two at VGC before going on. Hmmmmm, planning and plotting already :cool1::cool1:

That would be a big bummer if there was only 1 bath in the 1bd. I was hoping that after BLT and AKV, all of the future DVCs would have the extra baths in the living area.

I love the Hidden Mickeys in the Hawaiian-style quilt on the bed! I like the decor- tropical but not over the top as I have seen with some timeshares there.

We definitely plan to stay- probably spring break 2012. No WDW trip in 2011 to save our points!! Hawaii is as close for us as WDW (and closer when you factor in that it will definitely be a non-stop flight :rotfl:) so I can see us rotating years for trips. Aulani being in development was a plus for us when deciding to buy into DVC for sure.

Maybe I am not seeing it right but it appears to me like the two bedrooms have 3 baths while the 1 bedroom only has one. . . .or am I missing the second bath? Does that mean there will be only dedicated two bedrooms or your lock off will only have two baths?

I am the world's worst at interpreting these things but I don't see 3 bathrooms in the 2 bedroom. I only see 2.

Well I could be seeing things wrong (it definitely would not be the first time). But the clearest way to see it is to click on the floor-plan view of the 2BR with the balcony area at the top of the page. I see three restrooms across the front of the unit from this view by counting the toilets. Two back to back on the bottom right corner, one which may only be a 1/2 bath, and then one to the left. . . http://disneyvacationclub.disney.go.com/destinations/resorts/aulani-hawaii-villas/

See what I'm talking about or am I crazy?

That's how I see it too. :confused3 And I also think that one of the baths in the 2BR only has a shower and no tub. No biggie to us but I just thought that was different.

You are absolutely correct. I was only looking at post #10 on this webpage, which looks like only 2 bathrooms:

Thanks for posting this Mike :goodvibes

I think it's interesting that Disney used a wave sound as the background for that webpage, but the resort description says there is literally no wave action in the water front where the resort is located. The water is described as being like a big wading pool...

That's the one drawback for the resort to me. If I'm flying all that way to Hawaii, I would like to have a view out my window of my personal image of Hawaii. That image includes a beautiful surf, not a big wading pool, so we probably wouldn't stay there. Hawaii is in our future travel plans, but probably not Aulani.

I don't think they've misrepresented the environment with wave soundbite; there is most definitely waves on western shore albeit quite gentle compared to north shore Oahu. It won't be a deal-breaker for us, Ko Olina complex is an absolutely stunning area. But, whichever wave floats your boat :rotfl: Aulani isn't the only game in town.

:)

Who care there are 2 or 3 bathroom? As long as there is 1 I am Ok with it. I want to know more about the pool and restaurants and all other entertainment options they are going to have on site!!!

Sort of Reminds me of Universal Orland Royal Pacific Hotel a little bit!
Something looks similar to me!

Can't wait to try it Fall 2013 for 30th Wedding Anniversary!:love:

I kinda do care, with up to 9 in a two bedroom that third bathroom becomes a very nice addition!!!! But I too look forward to more info on other amenities.

Now that I look at the pics again, the table area looks small. If you are in a two bedroom with 8-9 where does everyone eat? In the GCV and SSR etc there is at least extra seating at the bar, but there appears to be no such option here. . .actually there appears to be relatively little floor space even to GCVs. . any guesses at the square footage?

The missing bathroom (or not) won't affect me as it's usually just my DH and me. I do think the decor in these pictures looks very dated. Maybe they're mimicking the Polynesian imitation Hawaii style?

Coming from the east coast, flights to HI are triple to quadruple more than our flights to FL. We've saved up to make the trip twice. It's definitely our favorite vacation destination. (My husband has been surfing since he was 8 and I, the history teacher, love the history of the islands.)

I'm sure we'll get there again, but those room depictions are not very appealling to me. Maybe we would stay there a few nights before heading elsewhere.

Anyone else seeing the darker wood and patterned carpet and furnishings as reminisent of the Poly?

I actually like the decor! Based on the artist renderings posted sometime before, I didn't think I'd like the decor. I'm pleasantly surprised. I agree with a previous poster about wishing the kitchen was more open/bigger. I think the addition of a bar where people could sit in addition the table/nook area would have been nice (kinda like the way the VGC kitchen is set up). Either way, I am still looking forward to staying there! :)
