Aulani Resort Model Room Pics

DVC Mike - thanks for sharing the images of Aulani. :goodvibes

I too would love to stay there, but distance would stop us from adding on. We would also be needing a short stay at DLR (possibly both ways) to break up the long journey.

DVC Mike, where did you get those promotional photos? I've looked everywhere.

TLPL: I understand they are building models in Japan so it would make sense to me to show the guests as Asian.

Just as a side note...most locals in Hawaii are of asian descent...I have alot of friends who are Hawaiian, and most people who grew up there are Hawaiian Chinese, Hawaiian Japanese or Hawaiian Korean. Alot of people are hapa (meaning mixed). Most people who now live in Maui (as opposed to Oahu or other islands) are California transports. I think Maui residents are mostly haole (I'm sure you can figure that one out). My friend who is a haole and grew up in Oahu had no idea she was a haole until she moved to Kentucky :rotfl:

In any event, I LOVE Hawaii because it's so diverse. We've been keeping tabs on condo prices to hopefully retire there one day...

Oops--forgot to thank DVC Mike for posting these pics. These are awesome, thanks so much!

Actually, the word "haole" is a Hawaiian word meaning "foreigner". This can apply to all groups foreign to Hawai'i. Usually one who is non Hawaiian yet born and raised in the Islands are called Locals.

Thanks Mike!
I think they are just gorgeous! I love the decor and the lay-out. If we lived on the west coast I would be adding on for sure!

Well after looking at the models on the public DVC website over and over, I've concluded that the are only two full baths in the 2 BR villa, with the probably of a powder room as the third bathroom. I find that disappointing after the last three resorts, AKV, BLT and VGC all have three bathrooms in the 2 BR villas. I thought the DVC realized that extra bathrooms was a good thing when putting 9 people in a villa.

The decor looks warm and inviting, I like it. Hope that one day we will get to stay at Aulani.

looks nice hope that I can stay there in the earlier part of the opening....

WOW Thanks Mike
Love the pics,floor plan,and links
Interesting to see that the 2nd bedroom has 2 beds rather than a pull out.
Wonder if there are any studios?

I'm hoping to book Aulani at the 7-mo mark right after a stay at VGC, to break up the flight and let me adjust to the time change.
.

Now that's a great idea

Personally, don't care what the rooms look like as long as hawaii is outside my door!!!

It looks so inviting and relaxing. I would love to stay there.
I like the idea of staying in California and then go to Hawaii, well worth considering that is for sure.

Eh, I don't care for the decor. Wouldn't stop me from staying there, though I don't think that's going to happen anytime soon. Decor or not, I don't have any interest in owning there.

Also, after the open kitchen layout of BLT, every other kitchen layout looks cramped to me. I wonder what the % of ocean-view rooms will be?

I think it's interesting that Disney used a wave sound as the background for that webpage, but the resort description says there is literally no wave action in the water front where the resort is located. The water is described as being like a big wading pool...

That's the one drawback for the resort to me. If I'm flying all that way to Hawaii, I would like to have a view out my window of my personal image of Hawaii. That image includes a beautiful surf, not a big wading pool, so we probably wouldn't stay there. Hawaii is in our future travel plans, but probably not Aulani.
