:confused: Please excuse me if this is the wrong place to post this question. my other guess to post it would be the community board but I know there will be people here who've been to aulani before.

we are in the very early planning stages of making our first ever trip (first ever to hawaii too!!).

so we are just now looking at the best time/month to go.

our main focus will be the water activities and we are not fans of chilly weather or water.

although I am going to research any available sightseeing trips and very hot weather might not be best for sightseeing excursions.

but I"m such a newbie that I don't know what to consider.

please help?

Do we go when it is warmest to get great beach weather? or something more temperate in case we sightsee?

Do I need to consider crowd levels? yes- see- I need any advice you can give

thanks in advance!

Hawaii temperature does not change much throughout the year. Winter is rainer and slightly cooler, summer is drier. If you want to see big waves go in winter.

Crowd levels: basically if schools are out it will be busier but with Hawaii you need to factor in when the Japanese travel ( no idea on that one)

Crowd levels are decent most times of the year. July through mid-October are usually the hotter months, but drier. The winter and spring months are usually a little wetter. We've just gone through a rainy period and some hail in select areas of the island of Oahu. :)

I see that you're from Pennsylvania and you're planning to visit Hawaii. This summer I'll be heading out to Florida from Hawaii to visit Walt Disney World. On the way back, we'll be stopping in Pennsylvania for a few days to visit the Hershey Park and surrounding attractions! Have a great time visiting us here in Hawaii.

That is the Golden Week for Japan and/or China. It is a huge holiday week.
You will notice on the points chart that it is a higher point week.

hershey park has the best chocolate chip cookies ever!!!! all of the cookies are good but those cc are the best i have ever had!!!

I was at Aulani mid March and the weather was beautiful. I thought I would be cold as I am from Florida but I only used a light jacket at night when we watched the starlit hui show. Our family went walking and running very early in the morning and we wore shorts and tanks and the weather was perfect.

The resort was crowded on the weekends and there were a lot of vacationers from Japan. If you do not occupy your beach or pool chair for an hour they will take your stuff and move it. I saw this done a lot over the weekend.

Lazy river gets kind of cold when it is windy as it seems the pool temp is in the 70's and there is a lot of shade.

I think you will find that ocean tempuratures are a little cooler than say Florida in the summertime. We went at the end of May last year (to Marriott KoOlina) and found the water a little cool. With warm days it certainly wasn't bad but it definitely takes some getting use to. That being said, I don't think the ocean tempurature changes all that much from month to month.
