Aulani presentation at Contemporary Resort

Yes, there is a "difference" between these two sources, but it doesn't mean that either source is in error. As I stated in my PP #8, Dvcnews.com has posted what I call the 'standard' Aulani incentives that are available to everyone. However, people that attend one of Disney's special presentations at DisneyWorld, Disneyland, the DCL, Doorway to Dreams, or even Tokyo Disneyland may receive additional discounts or special offers. These discounts and special offers might only be available to attendees and not to the general public.

If that is the standard offer for everyone (and I have no doubt it is), it's actually a better offer than what poohstx posted as the special promotion -- same discounts for fewer points purchased on Tim's "standard offer".

The "August UY points thrown in" comment on the other post doesn't make sense either. I'm sure Aulani has not declared any inventory yet! Sounds like someone got confused by multiple options being discussed.

I have a friend who will be vacationing in the next 21 days and would possibly like to do a tour and sit through DVC presentation!

Anyway, what will my friend receive for doing a DVC presentation of Aulani Ko Alina at Contemporary??????? Immediate Fast Passes for entire family as I received 2 years ago? I received 5 immediate fast passes for my family who attended the presentation of AKV Kidani!We wound up purchasing and I'm quite happy we did! Very pleased with the products so far!

Sorry the presentation ended yesterday! It was only for a week.

Getting back to your original question, Ed, I'd say that if you want to buy Aulani right now, this is the best price I've seen and DVC is the only company selling.

If you want to wait a couple of years, resale will be better. All you have to do is click on the TTS resale listings above and look at AKV and BLT to see that.

The caution I would give Aulani buyers is the same one I would give VB or HHI buyers -- buy because you are going to vacation there every year or every other year and think you'll need the 11-month booking advantage. I would not recommend purchasing any off-site DVC interest except for the home resort advantage at that particular resort.

If a person is just looking to get into DVC, there are a lot better options whether you buy direct from DVC or buy resale.

I'm still a little confused (I posted this in the other Aulani thread)...I wonder how they can give people 09 points if inventory hasn't been declared and the resort won't open until 2011? Are these "developer points" that people talk about?

We just bought an add-on, attended the DLR event and don't want to leave anything "on the table" so to speak...

For DLR, the additional incentives were either $2 extra off per point for 100pts + OR free 2012 MFs.

09 points for August - December purchases at places other than Aulani. There is no such thing as 09 or 10 Aulani points. They won't distribute until next year since it won't even be open until August 29, 2011.

There are no developer points or anything like that. I asked my guide about that repeatedly.

The poster must be confusing it with points purchased at BLT or AKV (or whichever other resorts that are open and being sold).
