Aulani Multiple Rooms Question

Has anyone here booked Aulani and had multiple rooms booked on different reservations and had any luck getting the rooms fairly close to one another? We are traveling with a total of six adults and four children so I am debating between a GV or a 2BD and a Studio. The travel is in early August so pretty high point season (DW is a teacher and the point chart at Aulani is not kind to her days off). We are looking at 6 nights so a GV comes out to 1104 points (For reference we have 495 points a year. We have 500 right now banked and current and 495 we can borrow from next year so I would have to transfer some in to make this work) and a 2BD+Studio combo comes out to 690 points. The 414 point difference is huge and makes me really want to stick with a 2BD+Studio.
If I book these has anyone had any luck with the rooms being fairly close? I searched on the board and best I can tell Disney will try to put your rooms close, but its a crap shoot. I don't need them to connect or anything, but the same floor would be nice, I would just be concerned if they were in totally different wings of the resort. Does anyone have any insight or advice on what I should do?

If you book multiple rooms, you will want to contact Member Services and have a Travel With noted on the reservations. The Travel With will alert the room assigner to try and place the rooms as near to each other as possible.
