We are a family of four, so either the hotel room or standard view studio to save points would be ideal. Are those impossible for a week in June at the 7 month window?

June is One of If not the hardest monTh to book. And the standard views often go first.

You might be lucky but you will need to be fast at 7 months

Early June would be the hardest to get because of lower point values. The "choice" season runs thru June 25th so it's probably the most in-demand month. There are very few standard villas in comparison so you should probably prepare yourself that you may need to book an IV (also hard to get because of the lower points). BE ONLINE with everything ready to go BEFORE 8:00 and ready to hit submit as soon as the clock on your computer turns to 8:00. Reality is blink and you could miss it. The points then go from "choice" to "premier" season so although still hard to book the lower points in early-mid June are truely "choice". Personally I'd rather spring for any view of the studios before the hotel room to have the kitchenette available.

Understand that getting standard view or the hotel rooms at 7 months out any time of year, even during Aulani's slow times, can be difficult. June is Aulani's highest demand time of the year. Early in June you may chances, particularly for ocean view, but as you approach mid-June for a start date, everything becomes difficult.

We were able to book at 7 months for this June 4th-11th. We did have to settle for a studio, the 1 BR was not available for our entire stay at 7 months (and we didn't want to move). I checked back a few days later and our entire stay was unavailable. So definitely be ready to go right away in the morning at 7 months!

What view did you get?

Thanks everyone! I'm in the beginning planning stages for summer 2018. We probably could also swing late May if that's any easier.

Plan to stalk the availability tool on dvcmember.com! That is the only way I was able to pull together my trip to Aulani in June (June 21 - 28). Be flexible with your dates if you can (my husband is a school teacher so needed to wait until after school). And be ready to book online at exactly 8 am on the day your reservation opens up. Have everything ready to go and click search when it's your time to book. Good luck! We leave in less than 6 weeks and cannot wait!

For late May 2016 (May 24-31) at 7 months out, hotel rooms and standard view studios were gone, island gardens and poolside gardens view studios were missing Memorial day weekend by 7 months out from the Friday (May 27) of that weekend, and ocean view was open.

Since you are planning THAT far out you should probably plan for the higher point value OV or pool view studio if you can. You have plenty of time to do some banking for it. The higher point value villas usually book last I think (lots of people in your shoes who want to save points). So if you plan ahead for that you'd likely be safer than merely hoping to grab the std., IV or hotel room. (Honestly from what I read it seems you pretty much need to be an owner to get the std. views - sort of like the value units at AKV.) And food is so expensive there you'd be better off having the studio vs the hotel room. We had pretty much all but 1 breakfast "in" and made sandwiches to bring down to the pool a couple of days by having the kitchenette available to use. I considered grilling one night too (even packed some spices that I brought with us) but never made it back out to the grocery store to buy anything "fresh" after we got there (I wanted mahi mahi). Have fun planning - it really is an amazing resort!!
