Aulani excursions

My DH and I just booked our very first DVC trip! we are going to Aulani for 7 nights in July! We are interested in doing some excursions, and noticed that thy are run by Adventures by Disney. Does anybody know if we can use points to pay for these excursions? We have banked points leftover after booking this trip, and are exploring our options for them! Thanks!

Good question. I noticed that two different types of excursions are offered:

Aulani offers 2 excursion collections:
Island Activities – Select from fun family activities that offer you the best of Oʻahu.
Adventures by Disney Excursions – These Aulani-exclusive excursions are led by Disney Adventure Guides, include transportation and feature the immersive storytelling that only Disney can deliver.

The ABD excursions are usually for multiple days and the when I look at the charts for other areas the one of cheapest prices was 400+ points per adult. Of course those excursions include a hotel. So since you already have booked the hotel I would hope it would be less than that figure. You could call MS next week (not today because of the cruise bookings) and see. But I would expect it will still be more points per person than you are spending for your Aulani villa. Don't forget there is a $95 transaction fee.

Or perhaps someone that went to the Annual Meeting and received the 2012 Vacation Planner has the information since Hawaii is not listed in the current planner.

But, I really don't think these Adventures by Disney excursions are the same thing as the ones someone would book for a week; that's the package deal that includes hotel, meals and transportation. These day trips sound like something you'd pay cash for, are run for only Aulani guests and organized by Adventures by Disney.
