Aulani - booking 1 BDR?

So I am interested in checking out Aulani but I would like to stay in a 1 BDR villa. Online you can only 'book' the hotel and not the DVC units. Is there another spot to do this like you would if you were booking a villa at Disneyworld? Or will they allow non-DVC members to rent a villa at all?

At this point in time, they are not offering DVC units for cash, even to members. The website says something about being able to book them 60 days out but I don't think they are able to do that until after the resort opens.

Thanks! I'll be interested to see if/how it changes when Aulani officially opens. Not too much longer!
