Aulani as a non home resort

Is it hard to get a one bedroom ocean view at 7 month non home resort open window for October

I recently booked a 1br at Aulani for very late September 2014 at the 7 month window, and all view categories were available.

We booked (renting points) a studio ocean view at about 6 months out. The first week we choose, our view choice was not available so we moved our vacation back a week.

We booked pool view at 7 mos. ocean view has the most availability as not everyone wants to use the extra points.

October doesn't seem like it is PEAK SEASON!

We booked an ocean studio last October just a month prior, fwiw.

We booked one bedroom ocean view seven months out

I don't know what would happen in future years as the resort becomes more and more full, but it worked for us sept/oct 2013.

We have booked a one bedroom for the summer seven months out and had all sizes of rooms and views available but booked exactly a at 8 am seven months out

We plan a trip mid/late September next year, so I started playing with the DVC reservation system this year at the 7 month window to see what was available, when. The only months I saw issues with, were summer-vacation time (June-Aug)and of course, Golden Week (the first week of May). I don't think we'll have problems for fall of 2015.

I don't recall reading about too many people being completely shut out of Aulani for any times other than maybe Christmas / New Years. It seems that most people have been successful getting at least SOMETHING as long as they've been willing play around with their dates and / or unit views. Anybody who is unwilling to bend on one thing or the other may have a difficult time in a higher season like around the holidays or summer but I think October would be a pretty low season. Schools are in session and it's not the dead of winter when most people feel the urge to go somewhere warm. It's also not home to any major holidays, whale season or surf season so I'm sure you'll be fine as long as you're ready to go online as soon as your 7 mo. window opens. I'm guessing that October is actually probably one of the easier times to book there.

I would guess that booking categories will be easy including standard. The kids are back at School. The only holiday is Columbus Day weekend. Book right at 7 mos though! BEST of LUCK and Enjoy!
