Can anyone tell me how access to the Wailana adults only pool at Aulani is monitored? How do they make sure that only adults use this area? Are there separate wrist bands for adults and children?
When we went (2 summers ago) everybody got the same wristband - I think the adult pool was probably on the honor system. I never noticed any children there - they would stick out like a sore thumb tho so any CM could easily shoo them out. Our DS was 17 at the time so we didn't go over there to sit as we were together as a family.
I never noticed anyone specifically checking wrist bands at the pool, but there were never any kids there. There's a bar by the pool, and during the day you can get poolside service, so there are plenty of CMs around.
There are only two different wrists bands, one labeled for DVC members which is wider and a thinner wristband for cash guests. However, a DVC member mentioned that their young children preferred the narrower band because then they could get more bands on their arm at time.
When we were there in February, a family entered the adult Wailana Pool and a CM promptly came by and asked them to move to one of the other two pools.
