Aulani acronym suggestion

How about Ko Olina Aulani, KOA. I do not think Kampgrounds of America would mind being associated with Disney.

KOA is a common tree in Hawaii and produces an attractive wood :thumbsup2

I know this is slightly off topic, and its well past my bedtime, but I was wondering what will become Aulani's tag symbol for people's signature line. OKW as a cute little turtle, AKV has a giraffe, and SSR has a prancing horse. I know some new Aulani owners are using a butterfly on their signature line, which is quite pleasant and colorful.

But my fear is that a malevolent tag fairy may endow Aulani with a symbol that will be hard to swallow. Remember that when Captain Cook first saw the Hawaiian Islands, he called them the Sandwich Islands. If the Tag Fairy can give Bay Lake Tower owners the ingredients for a sandwich, what's to keep the Tag Fairy from giving Aulani owners two slices of bread as their symbol???

I think I should go to bed now. Its been a long day.

When I think of HI I don't think of butterflies. How about a little hula dancer as the symbol? (or other stuff like coconut tree, hibiscus or plumeria, sea turtle, but those are all in FL too)

A Humuhumunukunukuapua'a would be fitting!

I'm seeing multiple initials, so how about giving the resort star power:

Make the DisBoards nickname for Aulani:

...and then calling it the Resort formerly known as Aulani???

Just my 2 cents...

AHR refers to the"R"esort which include the regular hotel.

AHV refers to the "V"illas which is what DVC members will be purchasing and staying

Hope that helps

I forgot that we use initials for both portions of a resort. However, I keep thinking about wdrl's comment that "V" is not part of the Hawaiian alphabet. I think it would be appropriate to honor the Hawaiians and not use a letter that would not be in their language. I wonder what villa is in Hawaiian? No one would remember that though. Sigh. Maybe AHV is best.

Aulani Sand & Sea.... Soo....
Unfortunately, that's already taken by All Star Sports.

PS - For what it's worth, I vote for "Aulani." It's pointless to use an unclear abbreaviation for a 6-letter word. "The Villas at Disney Grand Californian Hotel and Spa" needs an abbreaviation. Aulani does not.

I say for now just call it Aulani.

On a side note it will be very nice to stay there someday. I wonder how long it will take before non-owners will be able to get in. :confused3

Do you think they'll have Donald Duck be Dano Duck during the character meals? I vote for this initialing.
I'm trying to imagine Mickey with a pompadour playing the Jack Lord/Steve McGarrett role.

Or perhaps they could cast Max...
