We've given up on EE, it's just too exhausting. So, up at the crack of 8:30, a quick swim, and out the door to MK.
We stopped in front of the castle to watch the show where the villains take over. DH had to get a picture of the castle flying the Jolly Roger. Quite enjoyable. After that, it was time for rides. We started in Fantasyland this time. We walked on to Teacups, and then did Peter Pan. We still had to get an FP for Pooh, and everytime we walked past Philharmagic I looked hopefully for CMs looking previewish. Alas! it was not to be. We went on IASW, which DH said he wanted to go on because he had never been. DS decided that he was too big to be put to work on the ride (if you haven't been, the running joke everywhere in WDW is that if you leave your children behind they will be put to work in IASW "where they will learn to sing in 37 languages"). We had lunch in Pinocchio's, and they have a very nice fixin's bar. Free sauteed mushrooms! Mmmmm!
Fantasyland as done as we wanted it to be, we headed into ToonTown. After barnstorming with Goofy, we decided it would be nice to have a rest, so we jumped aboard the train to Frontierland. FP's for Splash were the order of the day, but DS baulked, so only DH and I rode. Before the time for our FPs, we went to Tom Sawyer Island, and did all the caves. We finally found the barrel bridge. Then back for Splash. We love Splash, but DS apparently doesn't. So, he waited near the gift shop for us. While we were in line, it began to rain, and we were concerned it would thunder before we could get on. They had made an announcement that the ride might be shut down, but we made it through, no problem.
Then we had to hurry to find DS, because we had his poncho, and it was pouring. By the time we reached the Liberty Belle, though, it had tapered off to a ligh drizzle, and Ifinally got to ride this ride. We couldn't hear Mark Twain, because we were out in front. It didn't seem to matter, though.
We had to go up to Liberty Square to do Haunted Mansion again. Everytime we ride, there's something new that we spot. This time, the major thing that I spotted was on the cart outside the ride. I got Undertaker Mickey! Does it get any cooler? He's even holding a shovel. They also have Mickey's and Minnie's in HM CM costumes, but I liked this one better.
I should mention that by now my creepy themed lanyard was progressing so nicely that CMs were starting to ask me if they could see my lanyard. This was both surprising and flattering.
By this time, we were hungry and tired, and it was almost time for dinner. We decided to head back to the hotel for dinner, and just relax by the pool/in the room for the rest of the night. At this point, I should add a recommendation for POR ribs. They are very sticky and tasty. And you get a ridiculously huge meal for 9.99.
Next - Day 6 In which Birds Fly and Tarzan Rocks.
