August Resort for non park visit

Next summer we are taking a 4 night cruise on Disney Dream and considering staying two nights after the cruise to enjoy pool time, Disney Springs, and maybe a water park one day. We are a family of 5 and will have our 3 DS: 11, 8, 5: We have stayed VGF, Poly, VWL, and AKV - Jambo. Where would you suggest?

Since you've already stayed in the MK and AK area, I would try an EP resort - BC/YC or BWI. Our personal favorite is BWI. The themeing is great and they have really fun entertainment and games on the Boardwalk at night. I would also recommend the Swan. It's just been renovated and they have a great pool complex. You would just have to book private transport back to MCO as they don't participate in DME.

For a non-park visit with Disney Springs and maybe a water park, I would actually suggest Saratoga. Two great pools, no park view to taunt, and walking distance to Disney Springs.

I agree with the post above. If I were going to be on property but not going to a park, I would not even want to see a park in the distance. So I would suggest something by Disney Springs.

AKL is our choice when we do non-park trips.

If I'm not going to an actual park I wouldn't want to be so close to a park. Way too tempting. I would choose AKL. I've never been but I always hear about the great things to do there.
