We generally visit in November, but will be visiting this year at the end of August. What can we expect for crowds? Should we purchase the Express passes? We usually do the 2 parks in 1 day pass, but that might be a little too much for August heat. Also, are there any attractions scheduled for rehab? Last year Jaws was closed...bummer. THANKS! :goodvibes

We have visited the parks during the last two weeks of August for the last couple of years. Yes its hot, but most southern schools are back in session so weekdays are not too bad.

If you arrive when the parks open (do IOA first), most rides are a walk-on before 11:00 am. After lunch do US. The single riders line will help alot too.

I would not buy an express pass in late August.

We also visit mid to late August and agree the crowds are very manageable.
It is the heat that would be the main concern, so I would advise you get to the parks early to avoid the hotter times of the day.
If you do then you should also be able to do the more popular rides without needing express passes.
