August question

We have to go early August this year because of my son's schedule. We usually go the week before Labor Day. Looking at going August 6-13. I know it will be busier because southern schools will not be back in session yet. I am curious about the park hours. I see MK is scheduled to close at 10 pm every night. Is that normal or are the hours usually extended as it gets closer to August? We would love to have a late night at MK, but the evening EMH don't fit into our schedule.

Last year the park hours for August were the same.. All parks closed pretty early. They may have changed as we got closer to, I don't remember for sure

Last August MK closed at 12, DHS at 10, Epcot at 9, and AK at 7. They were extended to the typical summer hours a few months in advance as per usual once the resort bookings got to a certain level. As Robo said, that may or may not happen this summer regardless of resorts being near capacity.

It is anyone's guess at this point, but if I had to put money on it, I would go with park hours being extended for July and August, as those are among the busiest times of the year.

I hope they are extended! Our upcoming trip for July 4 won't be very much fun if the Magic Kingdom really does close every night at 10pm.

I imagine that if they could close early and cut back on the nighttime shows, they would, however I do believe they have to look at the logistics of restricted hours during busy seasons, and limited shows in the evening. Holy CROWDED! I think that Disney may decide to hold back announcing extended hours and additional evening shows, but if they determine that they have the crowd levels to justify the extra hours, staffing, and additonal evening productions, they will add them. When they think they need to.

It would be detrimental to keep to a shorter schedule if that means they cannot accomodate them.

We will be there August 2-12 (we go every August) and we look forward to the late nights at MK. I hope they extend the hours as we get closer to the summer.
