I am anxiously:scared: waiting park hours to be posted, so while we wait lets strategize together about how to stay cool, what parks when to go back to resort, any thing!:thumbsup2

I am worried about the heat my Mom is in her 60's and has a hard time breathing so this worries me. She uses an inhaler from time to time and well wear hats and bring our misters in but its going to be hot! we plan on doing rope drop and coming back in the afternoon for a bread and going back around dinner.

We are only going to MK, DS AK and TLagoon
Places wed like to eat are Coral Reef, Donald's breakfast Ak, Chef Mickeys, Whispering Canyon and Ohanas.

We are surprising my boys 8 and 14 with this trip and are driving for the first time from Michigan:scared1:

We are going to surprise the boys with surfing lessons, I was thinking of doing Cape May for breakfast after the lessons and having that be a down day.
Im off to do :laundy::sad2:

Sounds like a good plan. We are also going in August (15-20 then onwards to DCL)

We're also planning on breaking during the hottest part of the day to head to the pool at CBR, then back to the park after dinner. Also going to bring wet facecloths to wipe down if we need to.

Wanting to take advantage of EMH's and attempt to see the fairies at MK (that's a must for my DD)

Hoping to score ADRs at Ohana's, Tusker House, Sci-Fi and 1900 Park Fare!

Happy Planning!

I am doing the same. I just sat down this morning and made a list of resturants I want to eat at but I am waiting for the hours to be posted so I can plan for the MH and parades.

Last summer we brought my 80+ year old mother and father. We did everything very slowly, took our time, took LOTS of breaks, and didn't sweat the small stuff.:scared1:

I thought I read that TL was not doing surfing lessons anymore:confused3

We will be there 12-16(then off to DCL also):thumbsup2. We will be there with the whole family, me, DH, DD4, parents, sister, brother in law and their 2 boys. We hope to do rope drop and head back to the room for naps and a swim since it will be HOT. Not sure what we are doing for meals yet. Hoping for Ohana, and Hollywood and Vine with the Einsteins. Not sure what other meals we are going to do. Plan on spending most of our time at Magic Kingdom. All I know is that I can't wait to leave!! In desperate need of a vacation!!:surfweb::surfweb:

I hope they are still doing the surf lessons! They had all the info on the wdw web page yesterday. I will have to confirm this:confused: Thnks for the heads upNettii:goodvibes

We go every August. Early morning and late night touring is the only way to go. I too am anxiously waiting for Disney to post the August hours.

Don't they know we're waiting? lol.

Since you'll have your own car stop by a local store and grab a few cases of water and a soft cooler. Keep a couple of small towels in with the ice. It feels great on the back of the neck. Can't stress enough about staying hydrated.

Enjoy!

We are going to be there August 24-28th!! We went for the first time back in January and had such a blast that we are surprising the kids (4 and 5 yrs old) by taking them again.... and also surprising my in-laws and taking them along, too!!!

Hoping to get ADR for Crystal Palace and Illuminations cruise to see fireworks!!!

Bring on the hours.... :cool1:

We are only going to MK, DS AK and TLagoon
Places wed like to eat are Coral Reef, Donald's breakfast Ak, Chef Mickeys, Whispering Canyon and Ohanas.

Something to keep in mind- Coral Reef is in EPCOT and that isn't on the list of places you want to go. To get into the park, even to eat, you need a park ticket. But, that said, we really enjoyed Coral Reef for our lunch last August. Great service and food. :goodvibes
And, :thumbsup2 to your other restaurants! The only one we haven't done is Donald's, but we've heard it good and are looking to try it for this August!

I was going to mention this too. Just wanted to make sure you are aware. We loved the lunch we had there in July 2007.

We are going Aug 6-24. I'm so excited for the park hours to come out. The real planning starts then. I have a preliminary plan based on July hours, but once August hours come out I can put forth a more set in stone plan based on park hours, EMH's etc.

I'm so looking forward to the planning next month.

We will be there the 23rd -30th.
Our first stay at Poly! woohoo!

We plan on doing rope drops every morning and staying till lunch time. Then head back for swimming and napping. We will have dinner ADRs for most days so we will do them and then off for evening park touring.

I like the towel in with the cooler idea. We are driving so I am already stocking up on bottled water, soda, and juice to pack in coolers each day.

Cannot wait for the August hours so I can plan our days. Regardless, we always do MK first and EP second. After that it is up in the air.

I am hoping to get the following ADRs
Le Cellier
Garden Grill
Ohanas- planning on 2 breakfasts there
Chef Mickeys dinner
Liberty Tree Tavern
1900 PF
Crystal Palace

124 days till we are there! Leaving in 120!

Can't stress enough about staying hydrated.

We were there last year during Tropical Storm Fay :umbrella: -I can attest that staying hydrated was NOT a concern! It did help keep the temps down, however. Hope you all have a dry stay.

I'm jumping in, too! We'll be at Pop August 23-29 and I can't wait!!! We're also planning on doing rope drop, then heading back to our hotel in the afternoon to rest/swim/whatever and heading back to the parks in the evening. We found that afternoon breaks are invaluable, regardless of what time of year you go.

I am SO ready for the park hours to be released. I have tried to be patient, but I really suck at it. :rolleyes1 I'm hoping that we'll be able to do an evening EMH at AK. I have NEVER been able to do this as many times as we have gone, and it drives me bonkers!! I really want to ride EE at night. :goodvibes

Any of you guys renting a car? I've been watching rates and still can't find anything good. Any advice??

We will be there 8/16-8/23 so excited. First time.
I have no clue where we are eating besides trying to get a breakfast at Crystal Palace and with Donald. Then since we have the free dining I want to do alot of character meals. We are driving down from Philly.
Does anyone know how early you can arrive at the hotel to get you checked in? When you get your package from Disney does it include your tickets so you can head out right away?

I am also anxiously awaiting the Aug hrs... going end of Aug and have tentative plans for parks each day based on the unofficial guide.

Taking my nieces (8 and turning 12) for their first trip ever and I think I am even more excited than they are! Any time I am having a bad day, I think of riding Splash Mountain with them... or seeing their eyes light up when Fantasmic starts or when they see the first floats in Spectro....

I am hoping to get reservations for the castle breakfast and chef mickey's dinner; Am also considering 50's Prime Time and Tokyo Dining; I'm not sure if there is anything at the latter to thrill Miss Picky Eater but I looooooooove sushi. Mostly planning on counter service because I like the flexibility and think they'd prefer it, anyway.

Since I've never traveled with them, I'm going to have to revise my plans as I go after I see what works for them. I'm planning on rope drop/ back at room for swimming and relaxing/ back to parks at night. But if they want to keep going, we may cut out the trip back to the hotel some days. We are not doing water parks because I think there's plenty with the 4 parks and the hotel to keep them busy, since they've never been before.

Right now, I just want better airfares for my dates than what I've been seeing. *sigh* My fault for being picky with times and not wanting to deal with 2 excited, impatient kids on connecting flights.

And also hoping the little one makes it to 48''- I'm not sure if she would want to ride RnRC but am sure she'd pout if she couldn't. I think she was 47'' when she measured herself a few months ago...

Well, we just had to reschedule from early June to August due to the kid's sport schedules.

We'll be there 10 nights and looking forward to it!! We plan to do all 4 parks, both water parks and the resort pool!!

We hope to score ADR's at the following:

Ohana breakfast
Le Cellier
Teppan Edu
Coral Reef
Cap May Cafe
Liberty Tree Tavern
Chef Mickeys

We'll also try some new counter service this trip and I want to do Characters in Flight at DTD.

To the poster who's heading down for 5 nights and then on to DCL -- ENJOY and have fun!!! Exactly one year ago from the time you're on the boat, we were on our Trip of a Lifetime on DCL through the Panama Canal. DCL for us is better than WDW, but we also really like going to WDW. I guess that means we'll have to keep doing them both just to make sure!!!

You can check in as early as you like, but your room wont be ready.

We are checking in at 8am on our arrival day.

DW is taking me August 21-24 for my 30th birthday. I am so excited!! Not sure where we are staying yet but it will probably be a moderate resort. It's funny I'm already thinking about August (already booked our flight...and was able to pay for half with a Southwest credit I got on reducing fares from our May trip....30 days to go :cool1:)! I hope the heat isn't too brutal as DW has some health issues and I have high bp, but I'm sure we'll forget all about that. I will also get a birthday button for the first time, and get to take advantage of this new birthday celebration deal. Yay!

We will be there 10-17. It's dh and I. We are staying at Pop. Hoping for ohana, chef mickeys breakfast and dinner, coral reef dinner, 50s dinner, sci fi dinner, cape may dinner. We are planning to do emh in the morning break in the afternoon either at the hotel or dtd. And go back in the evening.
