Me – 37…… just love it all
DH – Enz – 46…..has ‘gone along’ with the Florida/Disney thing for years but think he finally loves it too!
DD – Gabs – 14…..loves Pirates of the Caribbean…….money burns a hole in her pocket
DS – Gianni – 11….loves Chip n Dale…..can’t wait to spend!

Following our trip last October we’d all decided that we wouldn’t be returning to Orlando for a least a couple of years on the basis that if we left it a bit there would be new things to see and do. So far so good!

With this in mind the opportunity for a few trippettes came along – we had a wonderful family trip to New York over Easter, I went ski-ing with some girlfriends (the things you’ll do for a friends 40th :wink, DH went to Portugal on a golfing trip (again a 40th! Guess we’re all getting to that age :))

Then lo and behold whilst DH was in Portugal over the last May bank holiday my fingers slipped on the keyboard and up popped expedia’s web page shock horror! Well once there I had a play about with some dates and OMG there we some good deals. As long as someone (me) booked a flight leaving on 10th August and returning on 19th they would take 4 people to Orlando including hotel and car hire for under £2000.00.

Well what’s a girl to do?? I call DH up to tell him about this wonderful deal (under the guise of telling him how much we were missing him of course ;)) ‘oh right, that’s good’ he says. Er hello???? Not the right answer.

DH gets home a couple of days later…..I’ve been checking (only a billion time a day) to make sure the offer’s still good……well if he isn’t going to come out with it and say ‘let’s go for it’ I’m going to go on and on and on (you get the idea) about it.

So we decide that as long as we keep it below the £2000 mark we’d go for it. Used tripadvisor to check out a couple of hotels…..called the children down and showed them the hotels on the shortlist…..The Meridian Palms or Disney’s All Stars (I think….one of the budget ones anyway!)….it came out a little dearer with the Disney hotel and not that I was trying to sway the decision either way but I did go on and on (I do that a lot) about the benefits of staying at Disney. You know what they chose???? To stay off property…..2 BIG beds won the day.

And we said we'd only go in August as a last resort because you'd be mad to go there then what with the heat and the humidity

Well no sooner said than done and credit card in hand and plonked in front of the pc I go ahead and book to go back to The Magic :spining:

So that’s it – all I need to do is plan everything for the 4 of us to hit the parks again.

After a bit of discussion and opinion seeking I ignored what DH and the children said (you have to let them think they’ve planned it ;)) and I went ahead and planned an itinerary and booked tickets.

The internet is a wonderful place as is the credit card in hand thing…..I duly booked and paid for 7 day hopper plus non-expiry tickets (come on you know we’ll be back again!), e-tickets from Seaworld which cover SW and Busch Gardens for 7 days. Then the biggie (for me) Cirque du Soleil. Every time we’ve been I’ve stood outside the Cirque ‘tent’ and gazed longingly at it but it’s never appealed to the rest of the troop. This year they gave in (after me going on and on and on…..and threatening to go on my own) and I booked for us all to go :)

Whilst on our holiday I did start writing out notes but that sort of fell to the wayside so I’m just going to cover a few things instead……..hope it reads ok. It probably won’t flow as well as a normal trippie. Sorry!

amazing price. We paid £3,000 for just three flights and a car this august. no accommodation. No wonder you could not say no!
