August Exercise Challenge

70 minutes on the TM! Puts me at 386/1400 :yay:

A very slooooooow 13 miles for me last night (I really need to get back to doing my long walks in the morning!) that took 210 minutes -- for a grand total of (ta-dah!) 390/1500 so far this August.

I just joined this board today-finally wandered past the Theme Park and DVC discussions. I want to join the August challenge too! So far this month I have 320 minutes. I'm going to put down 1240 for this month. The last week will be a real challenge because our Y closes from 8/27-9/5 and I'll have to find another way to get my time in. Any suggestions?

stretching and 4.09 miles on the treadmill last night puts me at 315/1200

60min. Taebo class today bringing my total to 440/1600. I'm just over 1/4 of the way there!!!

Three more miles (45 mins) today to bring me up to 435/1500. Thanks, folks, for keeping me accountable!

Wendy (getnthinr)

95 mins so far this week that puts me at 95/700 for August (slow start i gotta get a move on)

105 min. cardio/swim and weights which makes me 365/1000

Keep up the good work everyone :goodvibes

Didn't get much in today. Too busy at work. Did a short 20 min. walk.

Do you own any exercise equipment at home? Do you own anything like exercise videos/dvds? Those are a couple of options that I can think of. If you don't have anything like that, do you like to run? You could go jogging. If you don't enjoy running then you could always walk. I know it is hot outside but you could always walk around your mall or something like that. Those are just a few suggestions that come to mind but I am sure there are many more that I am not thinking of right off hand. Good luck! I am sure you will do fine! :)

Everyone is doing incredible so far! Keep up the good work! I made today a rest day for me as it was a long and trying day and my dd was not in the best mood after having her 15 month check up and getting her shot (thankfully she doesn't need any more shots until she starts school!!! :cheer2: ) Add to that a dh that had surgery last week and has needed lots of help lately and I decided that a rest day for me was in order! I will be sure to get my work out in tomorrow though and I have done well the rest of the month so far so today didn't set me back any thankfully. Again, you all are doing great and it is helping me feel motivated, so thanks! :)

I am behind on checking in....
8/3 100 min
8/4 60
8/5 90
8/7 45
8/8 155
brings me up to 735/1600
I hope all that exercise shows on the scale tomorrow at my t.o.p.s meeting!!!

Ohhhhhh, your DD is so adorable!! Hey, if your DH had surgery..we know that you are working overtime!! Definitely rest as needed!! You are doing a great job keeping up with all of us and our minutes!!

Today was cross training, Biggest Loser+elliptical+strength training=75 minutes, bringing my total to 461/1400.

This thread is awesome! I can't believe how well everyone's doing! As for me it's been a great motivator, "gotta reach my goal, so get yourself moving"

Add today's time of 45 min for a grand total of 350/1000. :cool1:

Got to the gym yesterday afternoon and this morning! That brings me to 410/1240!
If I can get my butt out on my bike today that will be even better.

Tasha+Scott-thanks for the suggestions! I just started a walk-run plan on the treadmill and that's going pretty well. I would need to go to a park or something to do that because our road is very busy after work and it's dark before work. The trick is shifting my AM workout to a PM workout. I've been getting up and hitting the pool or the treadmill at 5:30 for almost 10 years, minus illness and WDW vacations of course! It's really easy to rationalize taking a week off, which is why I made the pledge. I'm hoping that will keep me going through the shut down week.

 I can't believe I did this!!! I slipped down my stairs yesterday!! I hurt the fourth toe on my left foot, I was a bit freaked out for a bit since that is the foot I had surgery on in April. The toe I had surgery on was fine though...WHEW!

I ended up with a severly bruised and sprained toe but no break, thank goodness. I am going to have to do some modified Yoga instead of walking for a day or two though.

So my time remains the same for right now... 160/800 :(

Lori

kkevcamsmom - sorry to hear about your fall! :( I'm glad it's not a break though. Hope you recover quickly!

I did 60min. interval training on the treadmill this morning bringing my total to 500/1600.

I did my Pilates Sculpt DVD (55min) yesterday.

300/1300
