August Discounts

So, according to Mousesavers, the historic trend for August Room only and package discounts was a release date of mid to end June and usually must be purchased by early July. So there is still hope for discounts for early August peeps. . .

I noticed that too.

My biggest consern is the lack of public deals for beginning and mid August over the last couple of years. I think the discounts we're largely based on when FL kids went back to school, which is much later this year.

I think there might not be any general codes, just FL and AP. I really hope I'm wrong. WDW would get more money out of us if they gave us a discount, weird, but true! lol

I posted this on another thread. I am also waiting for AP rates for August. 8-19.

I have a bad feeling here. For those, myself included, who are waiting for an AP Rate for any of the Monorail Resorts....we may be left in the wind.

With the construction at the CR Wings and the CR being used alot for conventions, i have heard during our recent trip last week, that CRO is referring all "convention" reservations to the other monorail resorts.

I think we will be left out. BUT, i am hoping.

So when do Florida kids go back to school?

I booked an offsite resort that we love (Marriott Grande Lakes) just in case we don't find a deal at the BC, YC or BW.

It varies by county, in Hillsborough county it's August 20th.

That make sense because that one code starts on August 21 and free dining starts on August 26.

I'm hoping for discounts too. I booked our airfare in January on two years of saved air miles hoping the free dining would be like last year but it's starting just when we're leaving!
