August... Anyone with great rental prices? :goodvibes:goodvibes

Any great codes or coupons to use? :goodvibes:goodvibes

Any help with this will be great....

Also post your rates....:goodvibes

We are a family of 5. Our stay will be 8/11 to 8/16 at Disney World then we will be going on the Disney Cruise. I just rented a midsize car from Thrifty from Orlando Airport to Port Canaveral for $211. This includes taxes and drop off fee. I tried many codes, but when I called directly this was the price quoted without a code. I hope this helps.

I just rented a compact car at the Sun Regal Hotel in DTD for 8 days - 8/15 - 8/23:

YOUR RATE IS: 1 Week at $184.50 per week. Unlimited mileage. 1 Extra Day at $29.99 per day.

Base Rate: $214.49

Total Estimated Charges: $230.49

This was with code AX10 which is for American Express members.

We are a family of six but are planning on ME to and from the airport and are only renting a car so my husband and I can go off property to check out area condos.......

I would of loved to get a minivan "just in case" but the prices this year are out of control.

I also have a midsized reserved and the Dolphin for the same time frame for:

Approximate Estimated Conversion: $219.61

This is with a AAA discount and a BJ's coupon.

Yes I am intending on cancelling one once I figure out whether it is more convenient to pick up/drop off at DTD or the Dolphin.

Yes, I did try that code on the computer and I saw that price. I also called and I was quoted 1 week @ 138.27 w/unlimited miles, drop off fee $17.00, and a total base rate of 155.27. The estimated total is $211.07.

i just won a bid on priceline for a standard size rental for 8 days from 8/31 - 9/8 (8 days)pickup and dropoff at mco for $19 per day so w/taxes ended up at $239
it was quite a bit cheaper than any codes i tried and i ended up w/alamo which is what i was hoping for
fyi i was trying for a midsize but kept getting rejected. my guess is that they have more larger cars available

What an adventure it has been trying to get a reasonable rental in August for a larger vehicle! I have reserved a minivan through Dollar going through Southwest.com(we are RR members)using Corporate ID SW2358 for August 3-13. $552.21...good? I guess for August 2009 it is good, but you best be believin' I will continue to sniff around for a better deal. The $552.21 includes taxes and fees. Hope this helps! MJ:confused3

Make sure Enterprise booked the right date... I called today and made a ressie for Aug 14-23 and I was quoted...157.00 for those days ... well when I check the ressie... she booked it for july 14-23... I called back and they couldnt do anything but cancel it.. so please check your dates...:confused3

YIKES! That is awful. Were you able to find a comparable rate?

I just checked and our reservations are still intact for the August dates. I'll keep checking, just in case though.

my husband saw a commercial on tv about convertibles for sale for $199 a month and wants to buy one.

I am hoping to get a decent price on a convertible when we rent a car at the end of august and maybe once he tries it, he will get the bug out of his system (here in MI the winters last at least 6 months).

Does anyone know of any good codes for convertibles??
