August car hire....

Hi Guys,

I am struggling to find any decent car hire prices for this August? We want to hire a standard SUV for just over three weeks. At the moment the best price I can find is surprisingly still Alamo through Virgin...

They have an offer running at the moment for a 'free driver' if I book before the end of May...

Should I just bite the bullet and get it booked as I can't find any other sites that come close on price?

Also does anyone know, if you book through Virgin, can I still register for any perks with Alamo directly such as online check in etc (not even sure if Alamo offer this as haven't used them before!).....

Hi Ali we booked through Virgin Alamo last week and feel we got a competitive price for 3 weeks hire in August. We used them 2 years ago and were able to use on line check in and all went very smoothly

Without knowing your price it's difficult to say but definitely clear your browsing history every time you look. The Alamo site in particular gets more expensive every time you do a search of you don't clear your browsing history. We got a 7 seater SUV from Alamo for £500 and something for 19 days for this August for some comparison.

We booked through Virgin and have registered for the skip the counter service so we can go straight to the garage.
