August; A good time to go??

I am going to disney 8/27 - 9/2 and i would like to know if that is a good time to go as far as lines go. I know it will be very Hot but will the parks be crowded?

I have gone that week in 02 and 03. We will be there those exact dates this year too! We love it. Since most schools are back in session the crowds seem much lower than the rest of the summer. I personally love the heat, so I prefer to go then, than say...December when you have to pack for all 4 seasons.

We were there last year at that time and thought the crowds were fine. We were a little nervous with the free dining they had, thinking it would be packed, but we never waited very long for anything. Just use your fastpasses for the big rides and you'll be all set.

Have fun and drink LOTS of water!!!!

we were there last August 24 ~ 27. It wasn't too bad. They had the free dining plan then too and I kept thinking it would be crazy crowded, but we managed. We went the time before in November and that was great ~ no lines anywhere! August was more crowded than November, but I would go again in August. We did get Tour Guide Mike and read every thing we could ~ I really do think it helped us to minimize the lines and maximize our short time there

Yes, we've gone that time a couple of years ago. It was great, other than being very hot & humid. Since nearly all the kids are back in school are about to start, the "family" vacation season has ended. Plus, the parks were open pretty late.

I love the end of August - while it still might be hot - most of the country goes back to school in Mid August leaving only NYer - who are lovely people and those from the UK on Holiday! Plus all the summer activities are still in effect. Of course - just my preference = ) Good Luck

We went end of August into first part of September a few years ago and we walked on to many rides. As long as you know what you are getting into with the heat you will be fine. Remember it is hurricane season. Be sure to pack a rain poncho.

I used to always go in August when I was growing up. I'm surprised I didn't melt.
