August 9, 2011 (8/9/2011) Taking the Wonder to see the AMERICAN CHILD

A good site to read sometime between now, and umm... oh yeah....
August 9th....

Also, I THINK I can post this link here -- there is someone who posts to this site a lot when they go on Disney cruises, that is how I found this person's website, but she has a packing list of what to pack extra for Alaska - she went in July: http://moonprincess.com/travel/470/ -- She is not a travel agent nor does she recommend one on her website, so I thik its safe to post it.

Also - a tour book that has a few two for one deals - http://www.toursaver.com/index.php/alaska -- might or might not be worth the purchase if you are planning on doing some private tours...

The packing list is great! Thank you so much for sharing it. I'll be sending it to my parent's and sister to help with their packing.

Well, since New Year's is now over, I decided to take down the Christmas tree. :( It's all down, packed away and now I just have to wait to have my husband put it away in the closet until next year. I certainly like putting up the tree a lot more than taking it down.

Hope everyone had a great Christmas and a very Happy (and safe) New Year.
WDW was very cold the first few days we were there and then warmed up just before we left.
We met up with Caropooh and family for dinner one night and our DD met them at the parks a couple of times. It's always nice to see friends down there.

Off to look at the excursions, I hadn't even checked DCL's website to see if they were posted yet or not.

Narrowed excursions down to 37 (I think) that I'm interested in. Thank goodness I have some that are sort of duplicates! Need to do a bit more work and comparing doing things on our own now.

hi everyone!! let me "re-introduce" myself...or get myself "re-aquainted" w/the happenings.

rsjj here. looking forward to our cruise. have 2 ds who will be 12 and 9 at the time we sail. am really looking forward to meeting w/all of you!! so excited that it's almost here!

so...how many of you already booked your flight/stays? i'm starting to look into our flights...and our hotel stay. so much to do!! and i read that excursions are up?

LOL, this is how I feel, now if I can just win the lottery to afford them all...

:rotfl2: ONLY 37?!? It's a shame they don't put the times on the website to help narrow the choices even more.
I showed Alexa the only 2 Teen choices and she said the other teens can have all the fun they want on them since they are not for her. It really is a shame they aren't offering 2 options for each port, not all kids want to hike on ice for miles or bike for miles. :sad2:

GOOD MORNING LADIES AND GENTLEMEN,

Anyone know why we don't have an arrival time in Ketchikan? We're thinking of booking the Duck Tour http://gdyn.akduck.com/ but don't know what time. Spots are filling up.

Also, I'm a little surprised that the Zip Line tours in Juneau and Ketchikan are the same price through DCL and Alaska Canopy Adventures.

I show 10:30 AM to 7:30 PM on sunday for Ketchikan on my confirmation. Not sure if it is accurate, but just thought I would mention, does anyone else show this?

Just to add to the confusion - I rec'd a revised confirmation on 12/18/10 and it shows us being in Ketchikan from 12:10pm - 7:30pm.

Not sure if the other ports are still the same - Skagway: 7:15am - 7:30pm and Juneau: 7:45am - 4:30pm.

Funny, we match on the other 2! But yours may be more accurate as my confirm was from 9/29/2009 when I booked and I haven't asked my TA for any updates, maybe I will....

Well, we sure don't get long there! We'll have to make very good use of that extra 1 1/2 hours we get!

It's still longer than Stockholm, but then just about any port stop is longer than that one was. :headache:

No drama, just a very short stop in Stockholm this past summer and we had about a 20 minute bus ride to/from the port/city. Our stop was cut short by about 2½ hours and we didn't find out until a couple of weeks before the cruise, and most found out about on here and not from DCL.

I agree! I tried for the mega millions but didn't win :sad1: Oh well...will just keep saving.

We won $10 on MM, not enough to brag about but it's been better than we've done on other tickets. :rotfl2:

I told my husband that we never win since I don't stay up at night to watch the numbers, so this time I decided to stay up and watch the numbers, I won $7:laughing:. Not enough....
