August 9, 2011 (8/9/2011) Taking the Wonder to see the AMERICAN CHILD

I'll give you a hint....the 8/2 cruise is more expensive than this one.

When do you go to WDW?

I did play with DCL's website and thought it was odd 8/2 would be so much higher.

We go to WDW 11/14 - 11/21. We are like 42 days away! :cool1:

Okay I am feeling a little clueless, what is an FE list:confused3:confused3

Fish Extenders (FE's) are hanging thingies that you hang on your room number for messages and/or gifts from other cruisers.

If you haven't been on a Disney Cruise, plan on decorating your door as well !!

Another T-shirt idea from my son...

"I can see Russia from my Cruise Ship!"

Here is a picture of our fish extender. I bought it off ebay.

Like others have shared - if your cruise's meet & greet decides to have a FE gift exchange then everyone who participates brings little goodies to put in their fellow cruisers FE as surprises.

We will miss you by two weeks, we are at SSR from the Oct 28 to Nov 2. Can't wait.:yay::banana::cheer2:

dato63......
I love love the FE idea and I lOVE buying things from Ebay (it is so cute!!!)
Thanks everyone for clarifying things. We went on a Wonder 3 day cruise in Jan of 06 and I decorated our door but did not see any fish extenders (but then again maybe I did not realize what they were).

That's a shame that we'll miss each other. Last year we were walking through Epcot and we heard "Is that Maddie & Mickie?" We were stunned, I mean who could know our daughters?? Turned out to be the two women who started our meet & greet for our 2010 cruise! They knew we'd be there and were watching for curly headed twins all day - and found us. Was really neat to meet them like that.

Sadly we won't be able to be down that weekend. I checked airfare and it's too much for what little time we would have down there. :sad1:

FE's are only done by people on a meet's thread. If you did not participate in a meet's thread then that would be why you didn't know anything about this. Typically on the 3 or 4 day cruises there's little activity on a meet's thread if there is even a thread.
On our 4 day Father's Day cruise I think there was only 8 or 10 people on the thread. Someone mentioned doing FE's and I think only a couple of people wanted to participate so I don't think anyone did them. But I did notice one cabin had an FE hanging but I think they were traveling with another family and just chose to give each other gifts.

Thanks for posting your airfare quote. I have no clue what we will do, either fly to Seattle, Bellingham or Vancouver. I guess we'll see which would have the best rates and flight times. We'll be flying from Philly so it will be long days of flying either direction. We'll definately book our own hotel up there with seeing what DCL is charging for their hotel choices in London next summer :scared1: .

This past summer was the first I've done the dummy booking and wish we had done it for other cruises, but hindsight is 20-20.

Hi Jilljill,

We are flying out of Philly too. We live about 15 minutes from the airport. We usually fly Southwest and will probably fly into Seattle, spend the day then onto Vancouver. It will definitely be a long flight both ways. We will probably use our DVC points to book hotels in both Seattle and Vancouver.

We are in Newark, so not that far from PHL. In fact, DH is heading up there in the morning to go check on our house in FL.
I've noticed on SW's website that you can now book flights to Canada. I'll have to look into doing that is it's still an option in 22 months. We usually fly USAir, but their prices out of PHL are getting really high to fly anywhere. We could always use our miles to fly out there if that's an option, if we don't use them to fly to London next summer.
So many decisions to be made for these trips. :headache:

So...Caro & Andrew....what do you recommend one see if in the Seattle area for a day? Come on...time to share your knowledge of the area with the rest of us. :grouphug:

Just wanted to stop by and say hi!

I celebrated my birthday yesterday - my 30th birthday! I'm getting married and I'm turning 30 in less than two weeks! LOL! It was a wonderful day! I had breakfast with my twin, lunch with my DF and dinner with my parents, my twin and my DF! It was a wonderful day!

We are an interesting family because of our birthdays are within two days of each other. My sister and I were born on my mom's birthday (October 4) and my dad's birthday is October 3!

Hope all is well with everyone! :)
