What would happen if you didn't get your docs before you leave for your vacation? That would make me nervous. I do understand that you can print your docs from Disneys' website. Maybe that would be of some help to you.

NINA, I don't know !!!!!!!
Living abroad, we used to have pier - pick up of our docs, BUT that was really a hassle !!!!! I mean, DGH has to drive a rented car to the port, leave our luggage inside the car ...then we BOTH have to enter the terminal, pick our documents up, fill them up, check in (we are non US residents, we need to show passports etc. ) ...
Than we had to exit the terminal (NOT EASY !!!), go back to the car, put their labels on our luggage, enter again the terminal (now with the car), drop the luggage, exit the terminal, go to Avis , return the car, get into one of their shuttles, enter the terminal AGAIN ... and finally get in line to board !!!!!!!!!

It was fun the first time ... but now we would like to try with a limo or town car ...: we should be OK if our docs (AND LABELS ) arrive in a mannerly time in Italy OR we'll see if the porters "accept" to hold our luggage ... while we go inside to get our docs AND THE LABELS !!!!!!!!
As far as we know, you can't print them from Disney's website... and DCL doesn't accept luggage without their PRINTED LABELS !!!!

So, Nina , I HOPE we get our docs BEFORE leaving home !!! Last year our friends who live in UK - Europe received their documents ONE MONTH before the departure of the cruise ... cross fingers !!!!

THIS should be part of the fun ... while waiting for August !!!!

How did you book your trip? Can't you call whoever booked it and get them to get DCL to send them out quickly, explaining the situation?

I wouldn't care how ya spelled it, it's still wonderful to have your own plane and have the freedom to fly.

Do you and Isabel live in Florida?

Are you awear of the special documents that as a single parent you will have to supply to take your daughter out of the country? (You don't have to answer that last question I just wanted to make sure you knew about them)

to fly to canaveral will take about 2:45 minutes OR a 9 hour drive

OH !!! If I were you ... I would surely fly !!!!!! That should be an awesome sense of freedom !!!!!!!!!!!!

And 9 hour drive sound SOOOOOOO MANY to me !!!!!!

We have passed the name of your plane to Dad,who is coming to visit us this weekend !!! he will bring us pictures of that plane PLUS ... tecnical description !!!!

We just think you're a very lucky guy !!!!!!!! Do you fly often? Where do you "park" your plane ?
Don't answer if you don't like ... I'm just curious ... I don't know anyone so lucky to own a plane !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I actually own the plane with two other partners. It makes the cost much easier to handle. I fly two or three times a week. We keep it at the local downtown airport in its own hanger.
It is definately a great stress reliever. My father was a pilot and it was he who sparked my interest in flying. We always had an airplane in the family growing up and i was very fortunate that i was able to experienc it as well. Now my daughter is getting the same thing.

NOOOOOOO, I'm not ready yet !!!!!!!! I just finished my oldest students FINAL TESTING ... and I feel sooooooo tired !!!!!!!!! BUT HAPPY !!!!!!!! They did GREAT !!!!!!!! and NOW I CAN DREAM of OUR vacation !!!!!!!!!!

I did just a little shopping...had to find a new suitcase, as TSA people opened / broke one of our bags last Summer at Miami airport ; not a big deal, I understand they are doing their job for our security !!!! Maybe I put too many shoes inside !!!

Anyway I purchased a nice big trolley!!! which we are going to "secure" with a TSA lock !!!

From this week on ... I'll have time to look inside my closets ...to see what we need to purchase: I lOVE SHOPPING !!!!!

Will you all "fly" to Orlando ? with lots of luggage ... or not ? will you pack "something dressy" for the cruise ? are you "in charge" of all your packing ... or is there someone helping you ?!?

Don't work too hard !!!! Save "energies" for our cruise !!!!!!!!!!

Yesterday Marco found on internet a very good rate for Royal Pacific resort (USO) ... so we are now definitely booked there from August 1st through August 7th.

This is my favorite resort at Universal ... Yes , I know Portofino bay hotel is their flag resort ... but I visited "the real thing" here in Italy on so many field trips with my students...that being at Portofino would not be a vacation to me !!!!!!!! and I don't like that much the theming of their Hard rock hotel !!! So I'm very glad we can stay at RPR !!!!!!
We may even plan for their Wantilan luau ( with authentic Hawaiian food !!! )... the night before the departure of our cruise !!



Still LOT to do : Plan USO, SHOP especially for the cruise !!!! , plan WDW staying !!!!
"My" Summer has just started !!!!!!!!!

Laura, there will be 6 of us flying into Orlando, via Atlanta. Could not find a direct flight for our dates. I hate having to change planes, but will take what I can get.

As for packing, I take care of me and DS 12, and DD 9. DD 17 and her friend will take care of their own packing. DH does his own also. Just takes his clothes from his closet to his suitcase, hangers and all!!! He travels alot on business and always packs his own stuff, although always at the last possible minute.

I hope all our house construction is finished before our trip, because everything is in such disarray, I can't find anything around here.

Love the shopping, thats another fun part of the vacation.

Off to do some sweeping up. Very dusty around here these days!!!

How long will your air trip be ?
Ya, it's boring having to change planes !!!

We will be on the plane -from Milano(Italy) to Miami- from 10 to 12 hours !!!!! It sounds LOOOOONG , huh ? BUT we will "sleep" most of the time, that way we'll arrive in US not so groggy !!!!!

You scared me ... talking of "house construction " !!!!!! I DO know what you mean !!!! I already passed through THIS 3 times in the past ....

Just try to think that EVERYTHING WILL BE SO BEAUTIFUL IN YOUR HOUSE ... Afterwards !!!!!!!!


AND... while cleaning up ... you can always dream of your lazy days on the cruise !!!!!!
