I just wanted to ask if you and DGH have thought about purchasing The Disney Dining Experience Membership

We have tried to go for the DDE, but withdrawn (for this year).
The reason is the following:

DDE has to be purchased in advance and you need a valid AP (or voucher) to order it by mail. When it arrives at your home, it's already activated and it's valid for one year.

Due to the fact that I can go on vacation only the first three weeks of August, we organize WDW visits in this way:
a) first year from the 10th to the 20th,
b) following year from 1st of August to the 10th.
In this way,we use our APs for two years!

This year is "year a)", so we need to buy our APs while arriving at WDW.

To get DDE we need a voucher; we could order it by mail, but using the voucher to buy DDE would activate the AP immediately (this way we could not use this AP next year), so at the end is not worth for us to get DDE on year a).

Do I make myself clear ? ... in this case COULD YOU explain EVERYTHING to Laura

Yep, I understand your plan...But if you wait until you get to Disney activate your AP then call the DDE # they would issue the DDE Card for Aug and it wouldn't expire until the end of Aug next year. Even if you call on the say the 1st of Aug it's good thur Aug 31, 2006 while you wouldn't have the actual card they will have a temporary card or paper with your membership information sent to Guest Services @ EPCOT. Then you could use it the entire trip.

I called DCL yesterday since my e-mail to them was never repsonded to regarding the switch from the "well-being" to the "spa-taster" as part of the REAS package, couples spa choice

So basically if you could ask the SPA staff this question and get us an answer it would be greatly appreciated!!

DDE would work, but the point is the following:
to take advantage of the double year APs, we need to activate APs same day than we enter the park for the first time (i.e. Aug 11th), so we do not have any AP in advance to activate DDE

In this case it would be better if ... YOU will call DDE # on the 11th (on behalf of us), after we get the APs
(we need an English mother language person to be able to maximize DDE)
Even if there are a few days needed to get the card we can use it THIS year and also NEXT year !

Just got off the phone with DDE You (I'll) will be able to call on the 11th Thursday and they can send a temporary card over to EPCOT Guest Services around 5:30pm But we don't need to rush over to EPCOT Thursday we can just pick it up Friday morning when we go for lunch. Also we will use my card for the discounts Thursday...No worries.

Laura, I'm so jealous that you are leaving so soon. One week from today and we are off to WDW. This time next week, I will be settling into our rooms at the Poly. Can't wait!!!

Just got my reminder email from the limo company. Still need to fill out all the docs and trying to keep up on the laundry, so that there won't be so much to wash the night before.

Just back from Target where the kids managed to find water shoes and sandals for DS.

DH (Sam) is due back tomorrow afternoon as scheduled. Feeling relieved about that.
