Here is a copy of the email from Mazatlan Frank:
Meeting time is 9:15am.
Hola amigos

I thanki you for your quick reply. On Aug 10, I have a City tour going on. It is the 3 1/2 hr tour. The cost per person is $22us and for child. from 3-10 $13us. We see the City, like Old Mazatlan, Golden zone, cathedral, cliff divers, El Cid residential area, viewpoint of the ship and city and much more. It is a great way to see the City. If you like to stay at the end in the Golden zone or at a Hotel and then go back on your own by taxi, no problem.

Have a look at my website for some pictures and more details. Any aditional questions please ask.

Gracias!

I posted on his thread and he PM'd me back. He seems like a nice guy and very familiar with what the "tourists" want so I figured it would be a good choice.
To anyone who is leaving soon, see ya Saturday Deck 10!
Vickie

Thanks Vickie for the touring information. This sounds good. I may want to change my plans now.

Does anyone know when is Pirates' Night? I can't get an answer from DCL TA.

Lisa

anyone know if there are "beach toys" to rent somewhere? Just curious - know my kids would LOVE to get a hold of a bucket and shovel at the very least....

Lisa- from the past Mexican Rivieria cruises I noticed that pirate night has been on Tuesday . I hope this helps.

Courtney

Thanks for the Mazatlan Frank info Vickie. I wonder if we can just show up to go with him or if you have to make a reservation. I don't like to plan whole day things, but 3 1/2 hours would be a good tour length. I wonder how hot it will be in those open air trolleys though... I remember it was very hot on St. Maarten last April and we didn't want to stay out long.

For braces, is it still the same as when we were kids as to what you can't eat? I never had them, but my sister did. Jessica loves popcorn, she could live without gum or sticky candy.

I am starting to feel behind on packing, I don't want my dream of not being ready to come true! I wanted to do some when we got home today and my stomach was acting up. I do feel better now, maybe I'll go do some gathering at least.

Cathy

Cathy - if it makes you feel any beter, I haven't packed a thing. McKenzie has come down with a full blown cold last night. I have been chasing her today with a tiisue. :sad2: I told me DH last night that I was glad that she has the worst part now than next weekend. However I am worried if any of us are going to get a cold now. I plan on taking cold meds for all of us just in case and a HUGE bottle of purell.

Now it's time to start chasing again!!!

I think that gathering is packing. It is a start. Once you starts, you'll feel better and keep going until you done. :Pinkbounc :cheer2: :Pinkbounc

My DD9 also have braces since the beginning of this year. It would be nice for our kids who have braces to meet one another. :grouphug:

I have emailed Mazatlan Frank today regarding the August 10th City Tour. In his quick reply today, he will let me know if there is room available by Wednesday evening. BTW, I don't know any Spanish, but my DD helped me translated most of the Spanish words. :rotfl:

Courtney, Thanks for letting me know Pirates' Night is Tuesday. pirate:
I hope that your DD gets well soon. :goodvibes

Looking forward to meeting you!

Hi everyone,

I have gone from packing panic to packing freakout as I worked today and must work tomorrow and start the vacation after work! :scared1:

Anyway, I might not be on line again so if I'm not and you see us - DD and myself will be wearing matching Mickey blue aloha sundresses and DH wearing a Mickey blue hawaiian shirt. We will see you at the SA party Starboard side 5:15!

Okay, I am in better shape than you guys so I feel better. We will all get there. You are right that once you get going... I did go out and buy some panty hose for DD and I and some magazines for the flight.

Cathy, I think you need to reserve in advance so he know if he has enough space. Hopefully its not too bad in the trolley, I firuge as long as there is a roof and you're not sitting directly in the sun it should be tolerable.
The answer to the braces question, Sara can chew sugarless gum but no sticky candy. She does eat popcorn, she can't live without popcorn or chocolate!
Vickie

Maddie's Mommy - We are going on the PV City tour as well. My DD2 (Mckenzie) will be going with us also on the tour. My DH, myself, and MIL are for sure going on the tour, however I am not sure if I can convince my DS(6) to get off the boat. :) .

After I read how everyone is packing I started putting clothes on the spare bed in my daughters room this afternoon. It made me feel better that I was actually doing something.

I will talk to everyone later. It's time for me to make dinner. (I can't wait until Saturday!!!! I don't have to plan for dinners for a whole week :cool1: )

Courtney

Vickie - Is your tour with Frank in an open air trolley?
We're also thinking of changing our excursion and going with Frank.

That's right, no cooking or cleaning dishes for a week! I try not to do laundry either, but there is a lot of packing, unpacking, repacking, etc. to do. :) :earsboy:

I still have 2 more days of work left! :earseek: Started some packing for DDs and myself. My DH is telling me now to finish packing! :crazy2: He said he's been ready. He says he needs to know if we'll need another suitcase.
Anyway, I feel halfway there.

I really hadn't asked, just assumed it probably would be after looking at the pictures on his site. He does have some pictures of vehicles but when he so readily added us to his tour I figured it was probably a larger vehicle. I think I will email him and ask.
I just have tomorrow left to work!
Vickie

We made it home today. Have lots to catch up on here. Hopefully someone can give me the Reader's Digest condensed version if I've missed anything important.
:wave2: Welcome to the newbies I've seen on here, can't remember names right now.

Barb e-mailed, she said to tell you all HI! She's in Lake Havasu City, AZ...the second hottest spot in the nation. I don't know what she was complaining about ....it was only 118°! :earseek:
OK, so 118 was cool compared to the 130 we had on Sunday (2 weeks ago) in Laughlin, NV. It didn't matter if it was a dry heat or not, it was HOT!

Gonna catch up with the rest of the thread now.

Jinny and Vickie, we are on the tour with Frank. He email me and told me it was an open air trolley and we are to meet him at 9:15. He will have our names on a sign. There's about 10 people from the Carnival ship and he has about 8 others, besides us, from the Magic.
I would email him to get on the list so you know htere's enough room on the trolley.
He also said he would let us off in town in we wanted to stay there or take us back to the ship at the end of the tour.
It's nice to know we will know some people on the tour.

Welcome back Barb! We missed you on the thread. The only thing I can think of is the meet on Deck 10 Starboard at Sailaway, look for each other at the port in various attire (one family in blue, we may actually be in Lime green or maybe just DH with me and my DIS button). He bought a bright green shirt, not sure if it is lime but I told him to wear it on Saturday. Kazu's 14 yr old will be in a wheelchair and they are a family of 5 from Japan.

You must have unpacking and then packing to do? A lot of traveling going on before the trip. When do you leave for California? We have to fly from Hartford to Atlanta on Thurs, then to LAX from there on Delta.

Cathy

Cathy, we leave here bright and early Friday morning. Our flight connects in Dallas before getting into Long Beach. We are spending the night in Long Beach. I have a rental car from the airport to the hotel that day so we can pick up water and soda before we board Saturday. We can also do a bit of sightseeing in the afternoon.
Thanks for the condensed version of posts.
I may wear my lime green DCL shirt or we may wear our Beauty and the Beast shirts, not sure at all. I will have my DCL backpack with my Disney bear sticking out the back and my lovely wrist brace on.
We'll be on the lookout for everyone at the SA party and in the terminal too.
