Hi all!

We are in Palo's on Wednesday night too - at 6:00. So we'll all run into each other!

We're starting our vacation on the 2nd - only because we are visiting Mother-in-Law on the way down to So. Cal and going to DL the Thursday and Friday before.

Thanks for showing the pull down bed, just curious. We only have 3 of us so we don't get one. Glad they have the guard rail in case the ship rocks (even if the child doesn't normally fall off).

Glad you found the seabands Jinny. I bought another pair, with Murphy's Law we may not need to use them.

For those who been on DCL before, what do you tip to your Kids' Counselors/Sitter? Gift Cards? Cash? Calling Cards? Candy?

I am very confused of what to do. Any advice would help.

This is just what I have read on the boards. Alot of people get phone cards, gift cards, and candy. I heard that if you give them cash it goes into a pool for later use???I will be getting the kids staff "see's candy" it's realllly good. It's different flavor toffees on a stick (like a lollipop).

I am also worried about sea sickness with myself. Last year when we sailed on RCCL to Ensenada,Mexico, the first night was very rough. (we were behind a storm) I felt it as soon as the ship left the pier. It lasted 12 hours. I didn't need anything, but my stomach was unsettled a bit for my liking. It didn't affect my DH, DD, DS what so ever. (I'm glad it was only me!) So this time I'm taking with me Bomine(?) and sea bands (since yall have been talking about them).

Now I have to get ready to go and buy stuff for Ryan's party on Sunday, now that my finals are over .

Greetings from Albuquerque, New Mexico! We got here yesterday and attend DH's friend's "wedding" (aka a "commitment ceremony") tomorrow morning. An out-of-towner's reception is tonight. Thank goodness for free hotel internet! Is it just me or are they constantly changing the Smilie List around here? A Maleficent smilie?? Very weird.

Thanks for posting the picture Vickie! My kids will probably fight over who gets to sleep on the pull-down bed.

Does anyone know of a reason that I really NEED to bring tennis shoes/socks for the kids? I'd like to forego socks altogether. DH and I stopped at REI today and bought really nice Teva walking sandals for them. We are scheduled for a beach and family mexican ranch party excursions. I couldn't really think of a reason why we would need to bother with socks! Just one more thing to have to launder and lose!

Also, any other couple interested in going in on the wine package with us at dinner? According to the Passporter DCL guide, there's a wine package for $145 that includes a bottle of wine every night with dinner. DH and I can't finish a whole bottle. Anyone interested in sharing? I've decided that bringing wine with us is waaaaay too much of a hassle. Sounds like the cork/service fee makes it prohibitive for dinner (something like $12.95 per bottle!).

Can't wait.....can't wait.....can't wait......

I'm getting jealous that I still have another week to work and worry about packing...I'd rather be on our way! But Rebeca is so excited that there will be other DDs her age and that our countdown is now less than 10 days.

We're hoping they show Sky High on the cruise...I called today and it's not listed, but was told that could change. Ice Princess is scheduled so that'll save me from renting it if they don't take it off the list...Rebeca has been asking to see it but we haven't had time. Other movies mentioned were Pacifier, Hitchhiker from Space(?), Nemo, Pooh's Heffalump, Brother Bear, Herbie, and some I didn't catch.

Last year on our 4 day we never ate lunch in any of the restaurants so I can't tell you what people wore (we never ate lunch except at Castaway Cay) but at breakfast I wore capris and I saw shorts. Hope that helps a little.

We don't have an exact time, but the ship sails between 5 and 5:30pm I have read on threads. We just plan to be in that vicinity and look around for each other as we wait and then get underway. I also plan to look for people in the terminal at boarding, I will wear my DIS button and if I am brave enough I may wear my lime green Castaway Cay t-shirt. Hey I like this smilie for our final countdown!
